Gold Comics is a Mellow Forum

24 posts in this topic

I collect Marvel Silver but find myself spending a lot time in General and Gold.

The Silver Forum unfortunately doesn't spark a lot of discussion threads and General, though active and eclectic, -- can generate a lot of bile.

I just want to compliment the contributors to Gold as the topics are varied, informative and written with decorum. There always seem to be a dozen or more interesting threads on the go.

For a period of popular culture now 50 to 70 years in our past, one can truly get a feel for the era in these discussions.

Some of it is due to the fact there is 50 - 70 years worth of information compiled on the golden age as well. That gives a lot to share and discuss.

I love all comics, but of golden age my heart is the fondest of all

I tend to stay away from the Gold Forum.

I'm scared I will want to start collecting GA and I can't really afford Gold Crack. Silver and Bronze Crack is expensive enough

I did like the Alphabetical Pedigree thread though

Give it time. If we can lure Nik in, we can get anyone

ECs and Timely's are my weakness

Like I said... I stay away :gossip:

Beware of the Timely Bug!

I know. I was drooling over the GA Richard had on his "Buy Me Wall" at Wizard World Texas. Some sweet stuff... (worship)

It's the viagra

Fixed that for ya ;)

:cry:lol

Gold is alway's a great read through, no question. And has some of the best 'old hands' contributing to it.

Silver has lacked a bit for a while, since the likes of Steve Filosa left the boards.

Plus alot of general stuff could sit in silver quite happily, but doesn't as it's more open for broader age conversation's.

Against a lot of gold topics that are locked to that era only.

I couldn't agree more and find I'm spending more and more time

in the Gold section of the boards.

When I don't feel like posting and just learning, here's where I

come. Lots to learn, lots of books to admire and of course

Gold collectors are such Gentlemen. :luhv:

Still saving up for my first Gold book to purchase and it should

be in a month or so and I can't wait.

What some of you may not realize is that there are alot of of "non-members" of the Boards that read this section as well. I fairly constantly get emails or an occassional call or two from someone who read a thread I was active in, but have never joined our little club.

So watch what you say and post Gents.......more people than you know are watching, and "the net" is recording your every word and image forever
