Looks like they're not quite open yet but I want to get it in the thread while I'm thinking about it because it's a new treasure trove to explore for possible newsstand pics.

 

The NYC Municiple Archives is about to release 1 million photos online, dating back to the 1880s.

Thanks Mark, I am loving these already. The intersection shown in the fourth photo of the article (6th Avenue and 40th Street, NYC from May, 1940) is just two blocks from my current office. At that intersection today, the righthand side has been leveled and replaced by a new hotel... but amazingly, the lefthand side of non-descript buildings still looks pretty much the same. I'll much look forward to plowing through the site once it's up.

some of these have been posted before but i found a some new pics to group them together to run from 1932-1954.

i'm missing a few years.
