Point Five
I must admit, I’m on vacation this week and completely spaced about this auction... I was thinking it ran until the weekend, but oops, obviously not. The Thursday night close was a little weird. Chief1332
OtherEric
Did anyone here get the liberty magazine? It certainly makes me feel the $14.25 I paid for my copy a few years ago was well spent… Sqeggs, Tri-Color Brian and comicnoir 1 1

And I WAS feeling pretty good about the price since it finished half of what that Greek magazine did on eBay last year! To be fair, the magic words "a few years ago" are key on any Baker or Baker-related purchase... my price shouldn't make you feel bad about yours. 10centcomics

Popular Post GreatCaesarsGhost
I am not knowledgeable on Bakers. I have been enlightened by the boardies here, and have developed my enthusiasm. I found out true crime Baker is the red headed stepson to romance Baker. here are my biggest surprises: It’s been my impression that these all have been revered as classic covers, so that’s not the surprise. The surprise is how much they went for. Holy carp: GCE 12!!?? Maybe it’s time for the world to step back and take note. my final impression is that except for a few books like the ones above, the final prices were so so. I’ll be reading the comments of others to see their thoughts my thanks to @Ricksneatstufffor organizing this event. I saw where someone else has been talking about it, and I share their enthusiasm: an all Schomburg auction, or an all LBCole auction, etc. sound great to me Edited August 12, 2022 by GreatCaesarsGhost Sqeggs, Point Five, Ricksneatstuff and 2 others
bronze johnny
Baker war books are also a stepchild to his romance comics. Really, Baker did phenomenal work in the war genre imho and his legacy in the 1950s’ era of war books is only beginning to take shape. His cover to Approved 11 should be up there with Heath's flamethrower covers, which I also love.

Everyone focus on romance, like mentioned Baker work on other genres. Fightin Marines it’s my favorite non romance. Good luck finding VF or above. comicnoir
