Spidey 23 - Escaped From Its Slab

Here's an ASM 23 that I recently released from its cellulose cocoon...

 

Note the smallish chip out of the back corner...

Except for the chip, seems like a very nice copy, so 6.0, possibly 6.5.

5.5 is my guess as well. CGC's grade could go +/- .5 either way...quite honestly I don't think they're 100% consistent with this kind of situation (small chip off a higher-grade book).

Regardless, super copy!

I'd be happy with a CGC 5.0. I'd be unhappy with a 6.0 as I have seen many better looking 6.0s.

Sqegs is the only correct answer - it's a 6.0

 

Rodan: this book is better in person, in terms of overall eye appeal - the creasing seen in the upper left corner is not found on the rest of the book.

 

Point Five: I agree with your contention, and would go so far as to say that for many people, this mid-grade range is harder to grade than higher-grade books.
