Peter that is just amazing! If you don't mind me asking how long have you been putting together your Tec and Adventure runs?

I started in the early '90's, but it was slow going back then. I got a couple of the Church Tecs (the 14 and 15), but after Dan Kramer cleaned out the the rest of the Church copies from the Carters, there were no high grade copies anywhere to be found. I remember advertising in the Comic Book Marketplace that I was looking for pre-hero Adventures and never got a single response. Then, with the advent of the internet and auction houses, these types of books started becoming more available in high grade.

One of the best examples that time and time again in the history of this hobby, the best approach has been to just man up and pay up for books that you really want. Because 15 years later, those few thousand dollars that the Carters (or fill in the name of the dealer) were charging above "fair value" seem awfully trivial, don't they?

Amen Tim, especially when it comes to pedigree copies, which are truly one of a kind.

Beautiful set RHG!!! Hope to see the completed collection shot someday soon.

We have seen some collections posted here lately that take vision, persistence, patience... and a whole lot of coin lol . Its so great to see high grade classic runs being assembled like this.

Bravo RHG!!! :golfclap:

Having seen one or two of those in person I can say that I'm in :luhv: with those pre-Bats Tecs.

Incredible books RHG! (worship)(worship)(worship) I don't have a single pre-hero book in my collection, but your group shot certainly helps my interests! I wouldn't mind doing the same thing, but in much lower grade

...or in any grade...some you just NEVER see....

Late comer to this thread but those books are incredible. Peter you must be getting the occassional call from Tec collectors who want to buy these gems? If you finish the run soon would you continue it to the pre-Robin stuff?

That's a good question SS. I probably will redirect my focus back to pre-hero Adventures, which is where it used to be.

I love the superhero books, but for some reason I get the greatest thrills from high grade pre-hero DCs, especially those with Flessel and O'Melia covers.
