18 years in the making - ASM collection finished today

Outstanding! I still have a way to go on my ASM set. Are you collecting all the current issues? Do you buy the variants of all sorts? What were the hardest or most interesting issues to get your hands on? What are your favorite issues?

V/R,

Mike

yes i also collect all the current issues, but no variants. i think one of the hardest issue to get was 129 with all it's up and downs in value the last 15 years. there were times when the price went down and then suddenly it got pushed up again. i always waited for the right moment to buy but then the higher value stuck with it and so i decided to buy a 8.0 last year. it's one of the few issues that i will always remember from my childhood, so i wanted a nice copy of this issue. favorite issues: that's a tough question. 5, 31, 32, 33, 39, 40, 50, 96, 97, 98, 121, 122, 129, 229, 230, 248, 293, 294, 300,...

Very cool! I got lucky and picked up an NM copy from JHV Associates (Joe V.) for $125 in Apr 1998. It came back a sweet CGC 9.4 White pager! Long time ago, but a great comic. Reminds me that around the same time, I paid Joe $100 for ASM 121 and $145 for ASM 122, and they also came back CGC 9.4 White pages! Joe was good to me!

Mike

Congrats! you sound very focused, and that runs an accomplishment in any grade!!

And yes, not having that AF-15 IS GOING TO BE HAUNTING YOU I bet you are right now thinking about it. Your realizing that even though you have the full run of ASM, you still lack that most important issue.

You will be sitting down tonight watching Television and your mind will be straying thinking that you still lack AF-15

As you are trying to fall asleep your mind will wander.. thinking of that missing Premeir of Marvels Biggest most important hero. Eventually you will settle into a restless sleep dreaming about how to aquire that on last comic that will make your collection truly complete.

You will wake up from your restless slumber to thoughts of How I can Aquire this grail I STILL LACK to truly make my Spidey collection complete!

Your buisness will suffer all day while you sit at your desk surfing the internet looking for that one elusive issue!

Or you will be content with your collection.

My guess is you will be updating this post in a short time with that AF-15 aquired!!!

Good luck!!!!

today is a good day.... no, it's a fantastic day. today i have finished my ASM collection which i started in the year 1990 with issue number 344. it was always a dream to have the complete series one day. but i thought it would always stay a dream. 18 years later, the dream has become reality. i received a DHL package today which contained issues 1-9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20 & 32 to complete my run. i thoght the last issues would take forever to collect because they are the most expensive ones. but then i was offered a great deal and i couldn't refuse to let it pass.

so that's it, every issue beginning from number 1 until today is in my hands. i still think i'm dreaming...

of course, there still lurks a AF 15 somewhere for me.... hm

That was a crazy finish after all those years collecting the others.

So when do you start selling it off?

Nicely done!

I have 10 left (1, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 40).

I would of completed this awhile back but I am reserving the copies under #53

to be CGC only tight copies.

oh well someday...

It has been 30 years for me off and on.

someday...

1-9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20 & 32

Wow, that is quite a package to open. I can't imagine getting that much goodness at once. Who was kind enough to help you finish your run? In addition to AF15 you can always chase the many great crossover issues.

Congrats on a wonderful collection. A virtual beer on me.
