We've seen your valuable comics: How much money do you make?

For the record I saw one of the coolest things I've ever seen in real life. Anybody know what a 1984 Ferrari GTO is? I had one drive by me and Lou in downtown London, Ontario yesterday as we were out for brunch.

Talk about how much dough you need to drive one of those around. There were only about 280 built, it was not street legal in North America and just the insurance is probably more expensive than my mortgage.

And the sound....THE SOUND!!!

anyone that knows me, knows that is my dream car!

I had a chance to buy on in 2002 and didn't have the cahones to pull the trigger...tried to buy one earlier this year, but it had already sold before I even found out about it :frustrated:

Did someone say Ferrari? I was at the Americana Manhasset Concours d'Elegance car show in Long Island over the weekend. Basically, if you live in the area and own a nice car, you can enter it into the exhibition/competition. Between the cars on display and in the parking lot, there were at least 50-75 Ferraris there (including two Enzos). Apparently every Long Islander in a midlife crisis owns an F430 Spider. :frustrated:

There were also maybe a couple dozen Lambos, 15-20 Aston Martins (including a gorgeous DB4, DB5 and DB6 all lined up in a row), a bunch of new & classic Bentleys and Rolls and more Porsches than you can imagine (they really do have the laziest design studio ever; all their cars look the same from every decade).

Here's a pic of some Ferraris I snapped with my phone - is that an '84 GTO (2nd car in)?

nope.... the 84 GTO is unmistakable :cloud9:

Nope. None of those are GTO. A GTO looks like a 308/328 but wacked out on steriods. It's low, wide, curvy and sounds like nothing else on the planet. There really was nothing else like it when it came out. I've only ever seen 3 and two of them where sitting still in Ferrari dealerships. To see one one the road is akin to going for a test drive in the Space Shuttle.

Rick what is the market value on those? I know it was a few $MIL back in the day but I have no idea now. Between the GTO and the Porsche 959 there really was not other car on the same playing field back then.

$6,000.00 a year

yes, $500.00 a month!

but the entrepreneurial side of my work ethic, allows me to make roughly another $1000.00 a year in tin can, and bottle deposits.

Well if you're a college student, that would make sense, as some state programs will pay full tuition as long as you stay under the poverty level cap. In the state of California, they will pay 100% tuition to any state/community college to an eligible Disabled Veteran's (rated at 0% or higher service connected disability) child. The catch is they have to make less than $10,400 a year lol

$500k, I work as a CEO of a medium sized oil company, I have 90,000 in my bank account, with another 3-5 million in my 401K.

And to your other questions...

9, 5, 17.3

and yet you buy low grade BA comics with or without marvel value stamps.

500k a year, but only a 500/yr comic book budget. After paying mortgages/property tax on 10 homes, you don't have a lot of money left for funny books. The economic downturn is taking its toll on all of us.

I see that a couple sold in the U.K. last year for around $400-$450K each, and I read elsewhere that they were selling for around $300K in 2000. If they ever sold for "a few million", I'd like to meet the buyer(s) so I can sell them a long bridge in Brooklyn.

West I was never a Vector fan because they used to use the American V8. It kind of killed the appeal for me though they do look terrific. I know they've changed their drive trains since. I'm a Porsche fanatic but generally appreciate most European exotics. Nothing sounds like a thoroughbred Italian car. I'm going to one day own a 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo with a 4 speed gear box. That's where my heart is.

:cloud9:

Yeah, they went from a V8 twin turbo to a Lamborghini v12, but the V8 was actually faster!

My dad bought one of those 5 years ago and sold it 2 years ago! He has a Lamborghini Muria S and an SV but has had them for a while.

I was watching some cool races on youtube. There is one with a new 450+ hp Aston Marin vs a 1001hp Bugatti Veyron. Not even close!!!

I'd also like everyone to post their height, weight, bank account balances, hotness of their wives/girlfriends/husbands on a scale from 1 to 10, and the length of their Johnson or bra size.

Tall, Fat, Huge, 11, Already answered in the four previous questions.

and since my comic budget exceeds yours and they are my passion, I am as well off as you are!

I know that analogy has holes in it, but my comics don't!

Just ribbing you, rich man. :baiting::foryou:
