And don't forget FF annual #1!

 For some reason I always overlook that one! Probably because it's just a rehash of the "Spidey meets FF" story from ASM #1. And it's a Ditko too... :(

It was published at the same time as the ST Annual #2 in July '63, IIRC.

It would seem, if you went by date of publication (newsstand appearance), you would need to speak of the first eleven appearances:

Issue - Cover Month - (Newsstand)

Amazing Fantasy #15 - August - (June 5, 1962)

Amazing Spider-Man #1 - March - (December 10, 1962)

Amazing Spider-Man #2 - May - (February 12th, 1963)

Amazing Spider-Man #3 - July - (April 9th, 1963)

Amazing Spider-Man #4 - September - (June 11th, 1963)

Strange Tales Annual #2 - 1963 - (June 11th, 1963)

Fantastic Four Annual #1 - 1963 - (July 2nd, 1963)

Amazing Spider-Man #5 - October - (July 9th, 1963)

Amazing Spider-Man #6 - November - (August 8th, 1963)

Amazing Spider-Man #7 - December - (September 10th, 1963)

Strange Tales #115 - December - (September 10th, 1963)

Obviously AF 15 is one, Amazing Spider-man 1 is two, then????????

I am doing a research project. any help would be appreciated.

For an additional perspective, the 12 Marvel comics on sale in the month of June 1962 were:

Amazing Fantasy #15

Fantastic Four #6

Journey into Mystery #83

Kathy #18

Kid Colt Outlaw #106

Millie the Model #110

Life with Millie #18

Linda Carter, Student Nurse #7

Patsy Walker #102

Strange Tales #100

Tales of Suspense #33

Tales to Astonish #35

These books had August and September cover dates. A great month with the first Spider-man, the first Thor and the return of Ant-Man.

Just over a year later in September 1963, the 13 titles were:

Amazing Spider-Man #7

Avengers #2

Fantastic Four #21

Journey into Mystery #98

Modeling with Millie #27

Patsy and Hedy #91

Patsy Walker #111

Rawhide Kid #37

Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #4

Strange Tales #115

Tales of Suspense #48

Tales to Astonish #50

X-Men #2

These books had November and December cover dates.

Someone with a lot of time on their hands, basically said, if I wanted to read every Spider-Man appearance in Chronological order, here is the order I would need to do it in.

So, some of the Untold Tales would be near the beginning. Also, they included flashbacks, so if Spider-Man today, were thinking about something that happened long ago, they would list that page in today's story in chronological order.

I use this tool occasionally, when I reread some of the old stuff, I like to see how things fit in from the present.

It had to have been a staggering amount of work.
