Mr Perfect was cool, but all those other guys were just using the IC title as a stepping stone to be main eventers. Honky was pure IC mid-card greatness! WWE Hall of Fame 2009? :wishluck:

I din't like Honky Tonk but his schtick did make him....unique.

meh

and surprisingly he did have one of the longest title reigns....and shortest matches ever to lose it. lol

1. Pedro Morales - 619 days

2. Don Muraco - 541 Days

3. The Honky Tonk Man - 454 days

4. Tito Santana - 443 days

5. Razor Ramon - 438 days

6. The Ultimate Warrior - 432 days

7. Randy Savage - 414 days

8. Curt Hennig -& Shawn Michaels 406 days

10. Shelton Benjamin - 355 days

If you notice most of the guys wrestled in the 80s to 90s ,when having and losing a title meant something.

Now a days ,everytime you turn around there's a new chump of the month zzz

I think this thread has been hijacked by a bunch of WRESTLING GEEKS

Speaking of which . . . name the musical artist who brought us this timeless classic

Pencil neck geek, grit eatin' freak,

scum suckin', pea head with a lousy physique.

He's a one man, no gut, losing streak.

Nothin' but a pencil neck geek.

i mistyped... Honky Tonk had the longest reign as champ. all 454 days were one title reign.

Morales was IC champ like 3 or 4 title reigns totaling 619 days. Muraco too. He held the title multiple times.

i think guys hold titles from show to show nowadays. Titles don't really mean jack anymore. I actually haven't watched wrestling in like 10 yrs. If I do ...its classic stuff like Flair in the early to mid 80s.

Not to distract anyone from the educational info regarding past wrestlers, but after tinkering with Excel, here's an alphabetized list of the NYCC Artist Alley and table assignments. You might even see at least 1 new name on the list (it shocked me, at least) that could interest some of you!

As someone who has obessesing over the list many times I can tell you these names have not been announced prior (J. Scott Campbell, Karl Kershel, Gene Colan, Bill SIENKIEWICZ, Alex Sinclair)

But there seems to be a bunch of artist missing (Neal Adams, Tony Daniel, Doug Braithwaithe etc)

Jimmy Snuka never had a title, now guys like shelton benjamin hold them for a year.

I remember watching warner wolf sports as he was only one to show madison square garden highlights (before internet and PPV) and I saw snuka do the superfly from top of cage onto muraco and I spent the next few days thinking snuka had won the IC.

Saw a couple of days later in the paper that he lost and a few weeks later finally saw that he headbutted muraco out the steel cage doors on the midnight wwf show. those were the days. The tv show was all job matches. lol
