My favorite cover of the first 10 Marvels arrived today! I love overnight shipping

mm7full.jpg

Bill: I agree with the rest that is a gorgeous #7 and I love that cover. I've always felt that the covers for #5,#7 and #13 are like a little mini set, and would look breathtaking beside each other as a subset. :cloud9:

Jim

Not a bad idea Jim. To me the great Schomburg covers stop at #13 so my run is focused on #1-13....but your idea sounds terrific. All three covers share the same characteristics that make them great...battleship steel walls, men in green suits, the Torch in a last second action sequence.

Totally jealous, Bill! Its got it all going on... PQ, condition, and a classic cover (with the cool signature Timely side bar). Can't wait to get a copy one day. The Submariner story in that issue is wicked.

ENJOY!!

...and hypodermic needle, girl bondage and even (iron) hooded menaces! lol

That sells it for me!! This book is one of my top Timely wants. Luckily it doesn't seem to be a rare issue, compared with other early numbers.

I wouldn't be too sure... a nice presenting copy is quite scarce, IMO

Who said anything about "nice presenting"? lol

And that comment was not meant to lessen Bill's new copy ... its an unrestored stunner! I wish I could have jumped on it (trust me, it ran through my mind at the time)... but it went to an appreciative home.

Thanks Jim, you've given me a new quest (thumbs u

Bill: I'll watch out for you. I know Stephen Ritter has a beautiful 6.5 copy (that I don't think has been pressed) of the #13. It has incredible eye appeal for the grade and the deepest reds on an MMC I have ever seen.

Blasphemy! # 14 is one of the greatest covers of the run! :sumo:

Blasphemy! # 15 is one of the greatest covers of the run also! :sumo:

West

I'm all blasphemed out.... :sorry:

West, you and Mark coming to the Mega-Con dinner on Saturday night? Lots of GA heavyweights to be there. Still have a couple of open spots in the reservation. Vitos has some of the best steak in town, and I know Mark likes his filet.

Congrats to Jim (cgcworld - or timelyworld!). Killer books.

Nice pick-up Roy...oh, and the Marvel 9 is pretty cool too.

Ponseti even scored a little Toro appearance while I was away. Attaboy Bill!

Staggering book Richard :applause:

But I think you have your chronology wrong. I bought a Marvel Mystery #7, that pre-dates Toro.
