All are wonderful, but I really love these (and I’m sure the insides are awesome as well!)

Thanks. Here's the Marvel 20 splash which interestingly carried a stern warning against copyright infringement of Timely characters

I'm very excited about my first GA Cap, although not all the art is great (the Human Torch story does not seem to be by Burgos).

Love the splash page, thanks for posting!

P.S. I can confirm that page designation is a bit puzzling: graded as a CROW, I don't see the pages being so far from OW, actually.hm

Interesting.  Never noticed that before.  I wonder if there was a particular incident that inspired them to include it or whether it was just meant as hype to convince the reader that "Our characters are so popular that people are trying to steal them!"?

congrats!  it becomes very addictive and expensive to collect Timely's............

Thanks! :)
I am not planning to "collect" them (not many at least!) precisely for this reason.
This becomes my first choice after I saw the four page featurette posted by @Timely in the "Hitler as WW2 horror" thread. While I wait for the opportunity to get a very low grade Cap #46 (important for my research for the thematic cover) I said to myself that this was a great choice.

Always nice to pop your Timely cherry on a Cap Claudio! It's been so long but I do remember my first. Subby #6. I've been hooked ever since. Most of mine are lower grade as a rule now. Low grade is better than not having them at all though...

Famous last words! (I know from sad experience.) :)

That would be a neat slant to convince readers of the popularity of the heroes. Maybe Everett's Hydroman got Goodman mad so maybe it was a warning against his own staff lol What I like is that the warning is signed with the relevant "Publisher of Marvel Comics" and not "Publisher of Timely Comics."

Thanks everyone for the nice words! :)
Yeah, I’m really thrilled… After I focused my WW2 research I quite became fixated with having a Cap #46… then I said let’s start with a Cap.
That was triggered when @Knightsofold put his copy (missing the back cover) on sale.

Should I have known better, I would have made him an offer, as it would have been quite the perfect starter copy.
I will probably put a request in the WTB forum when I have set some $$$ aside…

Grats!  Timelys are the best GA! The hunt for them is like no other.

Here's my first Timely:

That’s a beauty! To be fair, I love a lot the Quality books as well (National, Military) and there is very good stuff, story-wise, in other titles.
But Timely… it’s Timely, so I had to have at least one! :)

You have a nice solid Cap 19. Love the Human Torch banner on the bottom. Those first 20 issues are amazing with lots of murder and mayhem .

The first 5 Miss America magazines had Miss America stories. The first one was 100% comic book.  I believe from #6 forward it was no more Miss America and just Patsy Walker. The magazine lasted almost 15 years. Lots of articles, recipes and stuff about teen life.  First two

Thanks much for the explanation and for the inside pictures…
I remember seeing #1 and #2 in separate occasions, and I thought #2 was a magazine version for the photo cover.
Would love to have #2! Of course, I knew Miss America after Roy Thomas reintroduced her in the Marvel age… :x
