At least he has achieved his goal now. He has been noticed, and indeed discussed. This can now be worthy of a CV entry I guess. meh

Some people are just too sensitive/ attention seeky.

For my part, I never noticed or heard of him before, and I'm on here most days. (shrug)

I think he's "existed"...just had a different name and avatar in the past. ;)

Nope, you and the other one who suggested it are both wrong. For the record, I'm based in England and this is the only board i.d. I've ever had. I have no idea why you would think otherwise, or who Lavaman is/was.

I see pretty much every online response has been derisive so far, so my instincts were right.

A Mark Jewellers insert to the first person who says "so much for last post".

Enjoy the Silence, unless you're a Doctor Who fan that is.

Mine wasn't.

He's really only skimming the other posts looking for the self-fulfilling ones. Don't take it personally.

I just want to be noticed ...

The boards feel like a private party sometimes and you’re not invited because, God forbid, you might know something that the ‘regulars’ don’t. And we couldn’t have that could we.

I can’t for the life of me think why otherwise intelligent, busy people would want to spend so long on here arguing over and over again about the same points. The desire to land the ‘killer’ blow in a thread and be seen as the moral conscience is clearly so important to some members it’s nauseating. They must go to bed thinking about it, wake up thinking about it and spend their day thinking about it.

The best post in this whole rotten thread was “can we just DROP the mental health thing?” from Porcupine48 who, I’m guessing, would rather not have had to post it. And here I am coming out of self-enforced exile to add to the dross. Why am I bothering?!

In many ways the Boards are simply a microcosm of real life, with it's cliques and cast of characters. I do have to both laugh and concur with your comment about people wanting to 'land the ‘killer’ blow in a thread and be seen as the moral conscience'. I do wish a certain individual would lighten up a little. :gossip: But with all it's flaws the Boards are one heck of a resource for information, sales, and all around entertainment. It's a fun place with a unique personality. Get a different ID and come on back !

I think it would've been funnier if people had just completely ignored his post (shrug)

If he had really paid attention and wanted to be noticed he should've spent a lot of money or sold a lot of cool books.

Then he would be Well Respected ™

His post kinda make me think what were his expectations upon posting?

Was it Jim Carey's dream Sequence in dumb and dumber when he returns the briefcase to Mary Swanson.

He gets a hug, peeks at her cute little butt and before you know he is the life of the party beating up bad guys and gets to check out her headlights by a roaring fire.

Someone will spot something in the post that allows them to post a funny cutting one liner response, and that will be followed by smiley-winking-clapping face emoticons.

Not to derail this point here, but I'm wondering how you get that soap box all the way up there on top of that high horse?

:);):applause:

This discussion has organically evolved from Chip & Roy to Dumb & Dumber. There's a moral there somewhere, but I have no idea what it is.

I used to have an uncle nicknamed Sparky. Also, so much for the last post. :acclaim:

This is absolutely 100% true.

My Uncle Danny had a dog named Sparky. It was a nasty mean and incredibly fat chihuahua, it looked like a furry football with short legs but boy did he love that dog. He must have had it for almost twenty years and he cried when Sparky went to the big dog park in the sky.

RIP Sparky

I actually dated a girl with the nickname of "Sparky." Her last name was Sparks and we all called her Sparky - she didn't mind, she thought it was funny.

I wish it could have been a more electrifying romance but not to be. Her nickname didn't equate to any romantic innuendos.

I'll try and P.M. Greggy later and tell him, but I heard he's buried somewhere deep in the Himalaya's with some crazy idea he's the next Admiral Byrd.

Sounds like false advertising. I once dated a girl nicknamed Teabag now talk about disappointing.
