He did the right thing for once, and at least tried to ensure Steve didn't get beat up over his transgressions. Unfortunately, he needed some help getting back on here to attempt to do the right thing.

 

Shame is he may have still dropped the ball. I hope not.

It's just a letdown when you hope someone will resolve an issue they created, and then they potentially let you down.
