Wow, that 5.0 sold so quickly. If it had PQ of minimum of ow, the value should be at least $3300-$3500. SC22 valuation has not been updated for a while. Here's is the last valuation:

Showcase 22 valuation (last update 10/09)

9.2 $80000-$100000

9.0 $40000-60000

8.5 $30000-35000

8.0 $15000-20000

7.5 $10000-12000

7.0 $7500-8500

6.5 $6000-7000

6.0 $5000-5500

5.5 $3500-4000

5.0 $2500-3000

4.5 $2000-2300

4.0 $1700-2000

3.5 $1300-1500

3.0 $900-1200

2.5 $800-900

2.0 $600-700

Rich, didn't the "resubbed" Mound copy just go for $18k and some change. Man, that $30-35k est seems awfully high...I mean, you wouldn't be pumping up the FMVs, would you? lol

I'm working on a price list again soon. The SC22 8.5 Mound copy was sold during a soft market. Since it's been pressed, I value it between $20000-25000. If I were to sell my SC22 8.5 (strongest of the 8.5), I would sell it between $25000-30000...but market can change up or down. The price list on 10/9/09 is for crm/ow PQ only. Nevertheless, 8.5 should now have a FMV between $25000-30000. (thumbs u

Good analogy.

Has anyone done this exercise in the AF15 thread? Would be interesting...

This AF15 list I did on 3/18/10.

-------------------------------------------------------

Here's my price list for unrestored Amazing Fantasy 15 with nice eye appeal and very minimal chipping and are at least cream to off-white pages. Of course, page quality will add a premium 5%-10%.

9.2 $180000-225000

9.0 $120000-140000

8.5 $80000-90000

8.0 $52000-60000

7.5 $45000-50000

7.0 $29000-32000

6.5 $20000-25000

6.0 $15000-18000

5.5 $12000-13000

5.0 $ 8500-10000

4.5 $6800-7500

4.0 $5200-6200

3.5 $4300-4800

3.0 $3700-4100

2.5 $3200-3500

2.0 $2800-3000

1.8 $2500-2700

1.5 $2100-2400

1.0 $1700-2000

Showcase #22 Green Lantern (DC, 1959) CGC Apparent FN/VF 7.0...$3346.00

Showcase #24 Green Lantern (DC, 1960) CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white...$1260.73

my guess is that 7.0 purple will be a 6.0 or 6.5 blue for that money

I hope to be able to add quite a few "new" sales to the list once Convention season is over...including one "shocker" (thumbs u

What's the :o grade? Any hints...raw or graded. hm

no hints, that would ruin the surprise, but it should be a "shocker" :wishluck:

Looks like a 6.0+ will be a big surprise. (thumbs u

I love surprises :whee:

While I've never really posted much before, I owe what little I know of the hobby to what I've gleaned from the discussions here on the boards. I figured that it was about time to start giving back. In particular, this thread opened the eyes of a previously die-hard marvelite to the joys of high-grade DC Silver. It took quite a while to find the right copy, but thanks to PeeWee22, mission accomplished! Without further ado (sorry for the crappy scan):

Showcase #22 Green Lantern (DC, 1959) CGC Apparent FN/VF 7.0...$3346.00

Showcase #24 Green Lantern (DC, 1960) CGC VF 8.0 Cream to off-white...$1260.73

my guess is that 7.0 purple will be a 6.0 or 6.5 blue for that money

If the SC22 becomes a 6.0 or a 6.5, there will be value or money made for the buyer.

No, thank you! I'd feel bad for you having to give it up, but I saw that you replaced it with a white paged AF15 :cloud9:. A tough trade no doubt, but a toss up at the very least!!!

Hopefully its that simple, and hopefully the buyer/bidders did some research...if it was glue that soaked into the paper, that scraping might turn into "digging"..much like marker removal...which won't fair well...

Do you know how much/bad the glue was?

nope, never paid attention, but I can't imagine multiple buyers/bidders wouldn't have done the research at that price level (thumbs u

Maybe the buyer is just keeping it the way it is and it does have nice ow/w PQ. No matter what the outcome will be, this will be interesting. (thumbs u

Here is something I promised to do some time.... While I was looking for some books, I got these two babes in my hands and decided to take some pictures with my phone. Unfortunately they did look better on my phone than they did on my computerscreen. However, here they are......

a-1.jpg

VERY SWEET!!! I'm still on my hunt for a SC22.
