Thanks! Yeah, I finally decided to grade more of my raw books. Also, some of the FFs I need have been popping up.

Nope, unfortunately that one wasn't mine. I'm the king of 9.4/9.6 picture frames.

Some auction wins from the last month or two. The Captain Marvel #23 was Thomas's copy. And maybe Bob's (namisgr) before that? But definitely Don Rosa's before that.

FedEx told me they lost the box with the Conan #20 in it before it somehow made its way back to ComicLink. Of course, I used the refund for the Conan #20 towards the other books. Then when the Conan made its way back to ComicLink, I had to pay for it all over again.

That Conan is another stunning Suscha News copy, so glad it turned up after being lost.  And yes, that black picture frame Captain Marvel went from my collection to Thomas.  It's very cool and fitting you now own it.

Heritage auction just closed, only $288 for a Thor #193 9.6 from that other company? That’s just ridiculously low.

A CGC graded 9.6 with white pages sold for $312 at the end of June.  A lot of high grade copies of this book have been on the market lately.

Everything on that FF #123 cover is classic John Buscema, except his Nixon which actually looks like it was done by his brother Sal.

I love both the cover and the story.  When turning 18 in senior year in high school, I got back to reading and for the first time saving (i.e., collecting) comics, and the June 1972 Marvels that hit the stands in March of that year including this FF issue were what started a 50 year interest in the medium and the hobby.

I've posted this before, but am reminded again what a great time it was to read comic books at an age when I could better appreciate the stories and art starting with Marvel superhero and horror titles with June, 1972 cover dates.  These are not original copies, but part of my current collection, and at the time I only bought and saved some of these titles, progressively buying more and more Marvel titles of the day over the ensuing months.

That's a fantastic set of books and they look amazing all together like that.

(Side note, X-Men #76 has to be one of Kane's worst covers.  The Banshee looks more out of shape than Doc Ock, and of course we get a look straight up Scott's nostrils.)
