I didn't think my bid would get it done. I bid on another 9.8 PF with a lot more 9.8s and came up way short. If I had won the other book, I probably wouldn't have bid on this one.

I blame whoever won that other book then. lol  Seriously though, that #124 is sweet, I'm glad you got it.

:foryou: congrats and many thanks to all who bid on this comic! The funds will help to pay off the trip to Disneyland I just took with my 4 year old daughter! It cost us nearly $500 just to get in the place... :tonofbricks:

Nice hammer price for the Thor #201. It probably helped the Disneyland effort a little bit.

Like Joey said, it's a beautiful book.

I also had a Captain Marvel #34 that graded 9.8 and CGC jumped it from the Vintage tier (I submitted all of these comics there - with my rudimentary grading skills I was crossing my fingers for 9.4 grades) to the High Value tier - an additional $43.20 in grading fees! Luckily, the Thor #201 and the FF #124 both glided below their High Value radar! :wishluck:

Thank you, Barton!  I too thought that the 9.6 MTA #5 was a unicorn but according to the census there are four 9.6 copies now.

You're right with Captain America – six books #144,147,149,151,153, 155

Avengers have five - #94, 99, 101, 103, 105

And ASM,  Conan, Daredevil, and Hulk have four each

Winner for the most black picture frame issues.  Monster titles were published bi-monthly, and had surprisingly few black covers.
