The only thing funnier than Bug's statement is the fact that the starter of this thread was " ***DONOTDELETE** "...who, of course, had his account deleted. Oh, the irony.

What's the best way to marry a book?

I mean if you got all the nessary parts to do it, how do ya ultimatly put the book parts together?

Go to a restoration specialist. Like Matt Nelson or Matt Wilson. They can do it for you. Or you can just squeeze in some Elmers, slap the 2 pieces together, wait 15 minutes, and hope for the best. 893applaud-thumb.gif

A few years ago, I purchased a gorgeous front cover of Supes #34 off eBay. No back cover, just the front. I had planned on having it framed and displaying it near my comics, but a few weeks later, someone posted a really sharp coverless copy of eBay, and I picked that up too. So, if anyone has a back cover to Superman #34, let me know...

I picked up an Action 23 front cover only on ebay. I was going to frame it also. Then i saw a complete coverless copy and had to get it. Now i need the back cover for Action 23 also...

I sure wouldn't say I "collect" them but am usually a sucker for them when they turn up cheap. I have been to marry quite a few especially since ebay came on. I have ones I've had for years and ones I have completed very quickly. One of the first buys I ever made as a kid in the late 1960's was a huge box of GA parts and pieces. They are pretty much all gone now except for the covers for Capt. America #17, Marvel Mystery #8 and WDCS #31 which I still have.

Any chance you’ve got the centerfold to Cap 17 still laying around, Bob? That’s all I need to complete mine.

And I may as well put it out there here too: I also need covers for All-Select 7, three center wraps for Planet 9, and a centerfold for Daredevil Comics 10. Anybody in boardieland able to help?

I have listed comics that I have available for trade and pieces that I have found in the "Married Comics" thread.  I purchased a lot of coverless comics at the flea markets and held onto a bunch from the papermill.  For a while I could buy them cheap on ebay but a few dealers have listed a lot of defective comics (e.g. My Comic Shop) at full (good) Overstreet price.  I don't think they sell for that much but may increase their trade value.

I'm reading old threads, and came across this one.  It's like a time capsule.  Last year I paid $11k for an Action1 page 6!!!

Couple of years ago, cap 1 pages were selling for around 100 on ebay.  Meant to get one or two, but kept missing by a bit.  Can only find 1 completed listing on ebay, 4 pages for over 2k.  I remember a while back someone offering a Cap 1 splash page for around 700 on FB, which now I'm wishing I jumped on.
