ToS 39 Question

19 posts in this topic

I'm not here to rain on anybody's sale, but I have to ask: there's a ToS 39 CGC 2.0 SS (Stan Lee) up on Ebay right now, asking $20K obo. I politely suggested to the seller that may be a tad optimistic, and he informs me he has already turned down an offer for $13K.

I really doubt this is true, but I also know I can be wrong sometimes. My question: who's crazy, him or me?

Also, my apologies if this sale is someone from the board, again I'm not looking to hinder anyone's sale. Also, people are of course free to charge whatever they like. Heck, I sincerely hope he gets $20k for it, that'll make my copy worth even more!

Edit: forgot to mention, included in the sale is THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 SKETCH Wizard World Philadelphia VIB CGC SS 9.8 SIGNED BY Joe Quesada. I confess complete ignorance of this book, perhaps it's worth, I don't know, $19,000?

This is the same seller that has a Xmen #1 6.0 for $60,000 and a Hulk #181 7.0 for $40,000.

If he was offered 13K for the TOS 39,which I doubt.Who is more of a insufficiently_thoughtful_person the guy that offered or the seller for not accepting?

I mean dont get me wrong, they're his books and he can ask what he wants. But these prices are :screwy:

From the seller:

Sorry

Put I don’t think So.

I now how to price my comics,

There one of the kind CGC SS signed by Stan Lee.

Also Stan Lee toll me he is only signing for 3 more year.

So any new comic I get from CGC SS signed by Stan Lee I will list for 1,200.00.

I don’t give my comic away for nothing like the rest of the sellers from eBay.

And I Benn offer for this comic $13,000.00 and I still say no.

Clearly he's on to something. Or perhaps just on something.

it is a joke, I suspect (or at least hope)

Yes, I was joking. No way this TOS 39 listing can be taken seriously.

The guy's probably just pimping a book he doesn't really want to sell....or else he's out of prozac. GOD BLESS...

I'm guessing that's the same seller I've seen with everything signed by Stan Lee being advertised at 20+ times the OSPG prices...seems stupid since they'll never sell and will certainly not draw me to his website since I assume everything will be ludicrously overpriced but he can advertise whatever he wants I guess...though those emails you received do sound a little scary...serves you right for trying to be helpful... :jokealert:
