Jungle Comics survivor series

Ok, prodded by Scrooge, I am stepping forward to help defeat the holiday blues with our first ever Jungle Comics survivor series competition.

 

We start with the nominations. Jungle Comics ran 163 issues. To start, list your three favorite Jungle covers, scans included if possible. Each nomination will count for one point. I'll let the nominations run until December 12th. The top 20 covers will then face off for a survivor series, standard format as in the past, you vote one cover off the island until we have a winner.

Jungle Comics 48 - A great Art Saaf " over Tea-Kettle" cover.

 

Jungle Comics 133 - I like this Maurice Whitman cover for a number of reasons, and the bondage is not one of them.

 

Jungle Comics 159 - Sure, Ann's hand is a bit too small and her face is obscured, and Ka'anga's knife hand is awkward, but that really doesn't matter because it's such a dynamic image. And, it doesn't hurt that Ann's got a nicely drawn set of hips on her.

Very tough!

The GCD's improve "next issue" feature makes it easier to browse.

 

Apparently I Iike the covers without the busy logo background better.

Great thread. We should do all the major Fiction House titles!

 

Talk about a tall order, though...picking the best three of any is like judging a Miss Universe contest.

 

I'll go with:

 

Jungle 17, awesome pterodactyl cover.

 

 

 

Jungle 159, great lion, great color scheme.

 

 

And a repeat...

 

Jungle 85, for obvious reasons.
