GI Joe 3-packs

14 posts in this topic

I've picked up quite of few of these 3-packs or various configurations, 3 packs with a 'Joe comic and some others, and even a 5-pack I believe...

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of how many "pack" that came out with 'Joe comics in them?

Joes are really tricky. I was talking to the owner of my LCS one day about Joe reprints. He said lots of reprints are not even marked as such, you have to look at the ad or the Marvel Checklist to tell. He pulled out 3 different copies of the same issue that were all different but not marked.

Yeah, they aren't really marked on the indecies like they should be.

That is something that I have noticed as well. My rule of thumb (at first anyway) was that the issues with the bar code like this one:

http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=enlarge&issue=35544179902%2012%20NEWSSTAND'>http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=enlarge&issue=35544179902%2012%20NEWSSTAND

and the issues with the "white spidey" like this one:

http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=enlarge&issue=35544179902%2012

are first printings, and the issues with the "black spidey" like this one:

http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/backissue.cgi?action=enlarge&issue=35544179902%2012%202ND%20PRINT

are second printings. However, I have some issues of different comics (Spectacular Spider-Man, G.I. Joe, etc.) that have the black spidey but do not have "Second Printing" or words to that effect at the end of or below the indicia. Of course, the seller claimed that the black spidey had nothing to do with the issue being a second printing, and that if it did not say second printing (or third printing) it was a first printing. Does anyone have an issue that they know is a first printing with the black spidey (or vice versa)?

Some helpful info on Joe 2nd print books too such as what had 2nd printings and such.

I can't recommend yojoe.com enough as a knowledge resource!

Especially when you have close to 100 GI Joe figures given to you where majority of the o-rings have failed and they are all in parts lol
