Sad News! Ali-Jae is leaving CGC.

Pardon my ignorance, but is everyone sad she's leaving because she's attractive? Or is there more to it?

Dude, theres a lot more.

Ali is really great person and a friend to a lot of people in the comic community.

She treated everyone really nice inside and outside the CGC booth at all times. (as does Gemma)

Let’s keep it real most of the guys in the comic community aren’t GQ models and what I always admired about AJ is the way she would talk to anyone with a nice smile and a great attitude.

She also never excluded anyone.

CGC was lucky to have such as 2 hit blonde Combo for two years.

Easy on the eyes and being intelligent goes a long way. (thumbs u

She's attractive (but no GQ model), but no one should be impressed that she is willing to "lower herself" to their level to talk to them about comics. If I misunderstand your point here, then I'm sorry.

She's probably from the midwest as we have less issues with women having mess attitudes.

I don't know her, but she sounds like a top notch Customer Service Rep with management potential.

Speak for yourself. I can model old with the best of them.

Don't forget hairy. You can also model hairy. (thumbs u

Is there a market for gray?

As she's probably reading this thread, your choice of wording is, at best, ill-considered. :gossip:

Or if you're scared of CGC reading your PMs, I'll forward you an email.

Good God, there is no story. Scott was let go back in 2008, I believe. I met him at Dale's booth when I went to MegaCon in March of 2009. He's a great guy and CGC really missed out by not keeping him on.

Sheesh! doh!

What's all the fuss about? CGC wil just hire some other hot babe with brains to fill the position.

Just like they did when Borock left.

You thinking of applying?

Yep (thumbs u

But I'm a little worried about the effect I might have on the fanboy contingent.

I don't think so. I thought he was in customer service or some capacity such as that. I hope he's at MegaCon this year.
He was the shipping manager.

Now that I think about it, he was involved with a Frazetta signing though wasn't he?

Someone PMed me and basically asked me nicely why this is a big deal. hm

The answer is that some of us on the boards & Comic Community whether we are collectors, dealers, or CGC employees see each other many times though out the year at all the comic book conventions all over the country.

WonderCon, All the Wizard World’s, SDCC, Heroes, NYC, Baltimore, and so forth.

Many of my good friends on the boards like Foolkiller, Storms, CGCworld, DocWatson, GACollectibles, joeypost, Mutant Keys, Gemma, Drew (Canada), The CGC Crew, (I will throw Roy in there as well, lol), SPDREYCER, HotFlips, I see all the time.

I have NO family on the West Coast so many of the people above are like my friends/family away from home.

Ali Jae, is one of those people. :)

So when one of us leaves it sucks. I think some of you guys reading this understand, especially if you travel to all the cons as many of us do.

I have been away from my hometown friends and family for almost 4 years now, and I will make my return back East Next month so I understand how tough it is to just drop everything and move hundreds of miles away from what is comfortable to you.

It takes a lot of heart and guts to do what she is doing.

I think it is the right move for her in the long run.
