jreezy
$2600 is what I would have paid if I really wanted a copy that presented well and didn't want to break the bank. I actually think that was a very fair price for the buyer; there are days that book gets a 1.0 from CGC and sells for ~$500 more. This.. If it was for $2600 I would've pulled the trigger on those low grade copies on eBay. 5k for a 1.0-1.5 showcase 4 is pushing it. I would use that money on a amazing fantasy or hulk #1. Boba
I don't know what to think about this book: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281559215597?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT On one hand, it looked nice and sharp, but then the seller discloses color-touch as an answer to a question, not disclosed in the listing (that I could find anyway). Thoughts?
Sam I am
This is in the listing at the bottom: There is a small amount of color touch on the cover, slight glue on the spine, a few tiny tear seals and the book has been trimmed. It is professionally done and is very hard to notice. I wouldn't buy it, but it is beautiful.

Boba
Probably one of those books that were dicked around with in the mid-seventies or eighties when restoration became all the rage and everyone was trying to improve these books - I bet many Superman #1's met the same fate during this time. Sam I am
There was nice 5.5 ow/w on Ebay today, but the listing got pulled after 5 hours. Maybe he saved some $ in fees through a direct sale? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Showcase-4-CGC-5-5-OW-to-White-Origin-first-appearance-of-Silver-Age-Flash-/221666580350?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item339c5b977e

I don't know what eBay can really do if people contact each other and work out a deal. Maybe they're happy with the paypal fees if they get them. Who knows. The color-touched, trimmed copy being offered by collectors_comics sold for a surprising $4,579.51 IMHO, that's a lot of dough for a book that's trimmed, and god knows what else.
