OT - What do you do for a living???

o.k. before everyone starts hitting your search button I know there are older versions of this

thread out there, but the old threads are full of those missing images because of the old style

boards and looked kind of wonky...

Anyway, for those that don't know - I am an Art Director at Duke's Clinical Research Institute.

I make a majority of things that are printed (posters, banners, brochures) or multimedia

(like websites, tip tv shows, flash and quicktime movies).

As a recent example of my work here is a booth I designed and created for DCRI

and a member of my team helped out with the video sections.

This went through various stages and meetings, but here is final product...

I can't post picture or video of the inside of my building or office because it's sensitive material...

But I am a primate specialist for a toxicology company. Background is in exotics but I learned how to deal with monkeys on the fly...

It's a living lol

It's funny because the other day I was watching the Lion King with 12 monkeys as part of their enrichment program. I didn't even realize how "messed up" it must of looked with me and a bunch of monkeys listening to Hakuna Matatta.

Drywall and Stuco Contractor here in Arizona.

Family buisness started in 1965 and we are fortunate to be the oldest buisness of our type in the state. My Dad started the Buisness, and I took it over in full about 18 years ago after begining full time in 1978 at the tender age of 14. Nope never went to High School. I was just barely 5 foot tall and under 100 pounds..seriously.

I look back on this and think jeezus pleezus what where my parents thinking??!!

We specialize in commercial and residential construction.

Hello fellow Art Director. :hi:

Currently I work for business quality/management groups. Quality Digest and Paton Professional.

I also do freelance work from time to time.

Every once in a while I get to work on something fun/interesting. I got to work on an article for the Pluto NASA space probe. One time I worked on a CD for an American Idol finalist. I also got to work on an article for the CERN Hadron Collider.

I.B.E.W. Electrician

I estimate for a small comercial/industrial contractor.

It's been an interesting transition into the office after twelve years in the field. My style may be a little harsh as construction workers can be a rough bunch.

An old-timer once told me, "Out here, we tell you the truth because we don't care about your feelings."

I find that office types are not always down with that philosophy.

Front row: Randy, Denise, my Dad Bill, my wife Pamala and yours truly Bronzilla AKA JR

I asked my Dad to wear white for the Website photo and true to form he didnt listen and wore Black. He looks good though being the patriarch and standing out.

Also I threatened Jose with firing if he didnt smile for the picture. Thus the large happy face he is displaying!!P10105192.jpg

Same here.

Had an "interview" yesterday with someone who I could tell was a shady character over the phone. Turns out he wasn't hiring drivers, but wanted me to paint his :censored:ing office for some under-the-table chump change. (tsk)
