Anybody have any idea why this issue has a 9D printed on the cover?

Since posting last, I now have dual priced Turoks 20, 21, 22, 24. I know that 23 and 25 exist in this same format. Can anyone post photos of either or both?

Are there any more of these pence/cents issues out there??? If you have any, please post them!!!

Thanks.

Is it 9D stamped with a stamp or is it printed as part of the cover?

The 9D is printed onto the comic. That's what makes this particular mini run so interesting - it's not stamped on like so many other UK books of the same time period, Marvel for example.

Additionally, on the #24 that I have, the UK price has increased to 1 shilling. Since the North American issues had a price increase starting with issue 23, I would expect that the UK price increased from 9D to 1 shilling with issue 23.

Here are some pictures of the original acrylic painting on art board (which I had archival framed) used in the Gold Key series issue # 58, and later reused in a subsequent issue (with the acetate overlay)

Here's another Turok painted cover art on artboard I recently got, this time from the Spanish-Mexican reprint. Definitely nowhere near as good as the Wilson covers

They REALLY butchered this one didn't they? Too bad so many of them had the changes made directly on the panel as opposed to on an acetate overlay like this one.

Yes! Of course, seeing the acetate arrive along with the original piece DID made me think a bit before I had the piece framed (frame with acetate? Frame without? if its framed with acetate, how long until the original piece acidifies?). Only for a very short while, though

…keeping in mind that this is a silver age forum... ;) I'm not hatin', I'm just sayin'

I know, but then again it's a Turok thread and its sort of a Gold Key homage cover so I'd argue 'grey area' for this particular book lol
