Recent addition to the collection. I've been doing my small part lately to save as many of these unloved victims of CT (or in this case, glue) from the ravages of resto removal as I can. Picked up for less than half current GPA and the purple label perfectly complements them purple pants!

No bags or boards. Titles separated by paper towels. 

Marvel 1964-65.  ASM 14-23, FF 27-37. X-men 7-10, Avengers 7-11, TOS 54-62, JIM 109-114, TTA 57-64, Str Tales 120-130 

Plus a stack of “newer books probably not worth much” about  fifty from 1973-75.  Love it

absolutely absurd that this book would go for half GPA. Great pick up!

Funny - if I buy a collection of 10 long boxes for $4000, the wife thinks OK. Copper/Modern, who cares, right.  Come home with a single half box of these; it cost low 5 figures and she asks "Really, are you sure?"

I was trying to explain that around here regarding an IH 181 I "went after" at an Estate Sale this morning.  Told her it's a very valuable book in great condition so you know I might have to pay $1000 or more for it.  She winced.  It sold for $4100 and was probably worth quite a bit more after a P&C.

I went through this phase with my wife. When I told her that I paid $14,000+ for my copy of AF #15, her comment was, "Are you out of your mind?!?" I then told her that I had sold several books to provide the money I needed. This seemed to mollify her for a while. At the end of last month, which is when I calculate the "value" of my collection, my wife asked me, "How much is that $14,000 comic worth today?" I told her that it now has a FMV of $50,000+. Her reply was, "Well, I guess you know what you're doing." Talk about the Mrs. Math Teacher Seal of Approval.
