23 posts in this topic

went to the flea market this morning.

looking for a few fill in books.

a guy had a collection of silver surfer 2-6,8-10.

he said make me an offer. but, not a low one i know what they are worth.....

so i said 80 for the lot. which all where in good(2.0 or below) condition.

the guy freaks out and says they are worth way more then that..

why are u trying to screw me over.

THEN WHY EVEN SAY MAKE AN OFFER!!!!!!

why do people not understand condition of a book is how u price out a book!!!!

Have you ever been to an antique store? I traveled to a few in hopes of finding a bargain.

These guys are the worst possible price setters on the planet. doh! And they are adamant about their value being correct (whether by lie or idiocy, I'm not sure). On the flip side, I got an amazing adventures 11 for 2 bucks at a flea market not too long ago. And the seller knew about its significance.

Yeah the pricing is always strange. Someone will have mountains of worthless junk priced ten times higher than he could possibly hope to get for it, I guess for bargaining slack (I hate bargaining by the way). And then there will sometimes be one or two true valuables priced lower than most of the junk lol

Seems I only read about those on the Internet though, they are usually gone by the time I come around

Some people just love old funny books and enjoy it when others can, too.

At that point you could have said:

Okay, okay. I apologize. I'm sorry.

Here's a better offer: Take them and shove them straight up your butt!

lol
