Yikes, I think I went 9.2. Apparently this was the round it would have paid off to scrutinize the scan before guessing instead of making a snap call!

That books looks a hell of a lot better than a 8.5. I think CGC's method of grading is now something like this:

 

Put 2 pieces of folded up paper in your hand. One says CGC 8.5 and the other says CGC 9.6. Just choose one....either one, doesn't matter.....and that's the grade they give the book.

stay away from the "stain(s)"....after last round, I decided to grade the book without my glasses because I was seeing things that I swore is there

 

I must say, that big honking scratch on the cover was so big that I can't imagine this book above 8.0 but as usual, I am the undergrader when I am wrong. I must start selling raw books here
