Accuses Phil of being a liar in sales thread

8milemax quickly jumps in after and accuses Bruce1971 of being an alleybat shill doh!

What this leads me to think is perhaps there should be a new rule instated of no commenting in others sale threads (shrug) Unless of course it is a legitimate warning to all boardies and ridiculous posts like rimshots get you a week vacation.

This no comments includes no positive comments too like "great book" etc etc which sometimes is buddies just bumping threads.

What do you others think ?

And, you lost me.

The Berlin Wall came down over 20 years ago, this place can be a fun place to appreciate each other books and merchandise. Why would we voluntarily kill that spirit?

On a personal level, threads that are sterile and surgical like, are boring and I usually won't buy from them.

Comix4fun hit the nail on the head for me which is the fun that I have in a Clooneython thread or Snake Eyes when he mocks every book that he is selling, embodies the spirit of collecting. It's lighthearted, funny, and most of all you end up getting great books in the end.

You kill the fun of the sales forum if you impede on the flow of the threads. As per the negative comments, you take the good with the bad, and punish those who are repeat offenders. IMHO

Seriously, This is a chat room. People chat here. Even in sales threads.

I agree and certainly "chat" in sales threads all the time. I like that you can actually talk in the sales threads.

However, ime, most other chat boards do NOT allow talk in sales threads. My saltwater fish forums are VERY strict about having NO talk whatsoever in sales threads other than legitimate questions and offers. I was actually surprised that you can talk in the sales threads here since i've never seen that on the other boards i go on.

I normally dont care if there's blah blah posts back and forth but I do get annoyed when there's 5 pages of no books and just dialogue.

It sometimes makes me quit looking in the thread altogether.

SS,

I voted disagree, because this place is more than just a place to sell stuff, even in the selling thread. I think the synergies that are generated in a good, rousing, active sales thread are worth it.

But I agree that there has been an inordinate amount of threadkrapping lately. Especially in the Sig Room and Copper/Modern sales threads, which a lot of folks don't see.

I think your heart is in the right place, but I don't think an outright ban of chatter is the way to go.

8milemax got the poster's name wrong and named Bruce rather than the new member who made the stupid comments.

The new member knows more than any 'new member' and is obviously a shill who should be ignored.

Comments in the Sales forum is okay to a point, but Rimjob's comments were way out of line. Keep it respectful and try not to encourage Shill posts by quoting them and responding to them...

Besides, if they ban the chatter in the sales forums, then they will have to get rid of the  graemlin

:( If this worked I wanted to get sig lines banned next. Than perhaps usernames hm:)

Everyone would be given a number :D

All new threads would have to be approved by the mods :applause:

Yep, no comments was a bad idea. Perhaps we should just stick to doing our best to not leave negative comments in others sales threads. I'm sure I've done it and I'm sure rimshot is a shill who will be banned anyways.

Rimshot went racial in the McFarlane toys thread. Signs are pointing to CarolinaComix, that wacky little guy.

In all seriousness sales threads really should be limited to the ops ad and serious buyers and not for regular chat. It is unnecessary bumping of sales threads. Having chats about books and such is what the other sections are for.

Lighten up, Francis.

We're already told what we can and cannot do enough in our lives, we don't need to be doing it to each other here.
