a crook when it comes to comics graded 9.0+, sure. i've only won 3 auctions from him, average grade of the comics 7.0-8.0, and i don't see any evidence that they've been altered. i can see not buying from him on principal, but sometimes it's nice to get some cheap comics.

I'm sure you'd also be quite happy dealing with rapists and child pornographers so long as their books were cheap and they hadn't actually raped you.

yes, i was mistaken. it's a different PLOD. bijoubaby05 pointed out to me in the ebay email ( and here on these boards again just now? ) that one is trimmed over the comics code seal and the other is not.

I don't think anyone is faulting you for buying from him if you didn't know about him. As many board members know, the money-back promise and the good feedback are a calculated part of his scheme. People are on your case because now you know that the guy is knowingly scamming people and it sounds like you still have intentions of doing business with him True?

However FT's point is that everything you've mentioned is just part of his modus operandi and it would be wise to take note of that. There are innumerable threads about how he runs his business, but to keep it brief, he restores without disclosure, photoshops his scans, and offers a return only when the customer spots his scam. If not, the customer is duped. His easy return policy ensures no negatives (and besides, there are so many below-par sellers on ebay anyway with stellar feedback that it really doesn't mean that much).

 

No cred on this board dealing with this chap, considering the amount of boardies here who've been ripped off by him. The man was jailed for such fraudulent practices and has vast previous. End of.

Bought as a 8.5, cracked out and sold as a 9.2-9.4. Unfortunately for him, there are only so many X-men 2's signed by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby on the 1st page with the EXACT same stress marks on the spine (thumbs u

When did any of his comics start going for cheap?

I have always seen his stuff get premium prices because he has developed such a following on ebay.

 

I find this hard to believe.
