Issue 85 does seem to be more availible in higher grade. I really dig that cover.

Well $475 for the 85 9.4 and $425 for the 82 9.2 893whatthe.gif893whatthe.gif

Other highlights

HOM 181 9.6 $650

HOM 186 9.4 $416

HOM 187 9.6 $775 893whatthe.gif

WOW! The HofS83 cgc 9.2 went for $423.00! I think that past all expectations. I hope mine at cgc comes back a 9.2. It has a shot I think. There also seems to be more competition in the 9.2 grade overall. I failed to get any of the 9.2 issues I went after. That was a shock to me. Thought I would at least get 1 of them but refuse to overpay. Maybe the 9.2 tier is climbing overall.

The 9.2 tier is rising I think because on a lot of books like the #83 there really arent any 9.4s for sale. Those prices are pretty incredible for many of those books, the prices jumped a lot in the end. Makes the PC copy of #83 which sold for $350 bucks not seem so bad anymore.

WH 4 $605 I knew it would go for a ton.893whatthe.gif

At least I got a nice looking 6 9.0 grin.gif

Who was the guy that lobbed $775 big ones on HOM 190!!!!!!!

Yes, it's top guide, but still that's some faith it's going to stay that way!

I placed bids on over 15 books and came away with 3. Nice WH 6. That is another tougher that you don't see everyday above 9.0. I was able to get the Unexpected 126 and Phantom Stranger 16. Both were 9.2 of course. I also won a Frankenstein 2 cgc 9.4. Didn't care for the wrap but it was a good price.

Clink last night. It's not on the census thus the only 9.6, but still $775 is a big opening for a new entry.

The book in question the 187 was sold in their auction. Once the auctions are done the book ends up as a pending sale on the regular for sale part of the site. Honestly seeing how these prices are going I think I will never touch a 9.6 horror book.

For early HofS and HofM issues in cgc9.6 I think the price will cost you at least $700 today. The HofS census shows how tough they are to find in cgc9.6. Issues 81,82,83,84,85 still have no 9.6 copies and issues 86-89 have just 1 copy.

Maybe this will change over time but as of today they do look tough to get and if you are one that wants 9.4 or better copies of the early DC Horror books looks like you have stiff competition for the few availble that do come up for sale. People just don't want to part with their high grade stuff as they may not be able to get another copy down the road.

These came in the mail yesterday. They each fall just a tad short of 9.2 or better but are very nice vf/nm copies. Can't complain since the prices were fair and were graded as nm- from the sellar.

I'm returning issues 85 and 88 of HofS because I felt they were too far off grade to keep. This one is a keeper for now though...

HOUSE OF SECRETS 97 I love this cover and the cover to 94. All the flaws are on the back of this one. Presents well.

HOUSE OF MYSTERY 205 I must have had 5 copies of this issue in my collection so far this year and still can't find a nm-. This is the best copy I have found so far and is nicely centered. Sweet cover.

That is still a nice copy Buck. thumbsup2.gif This seems to be a tough book to find in HG. Here is my copy. It is nice also, except that it has a "popped" lower staple.

By the way, I agree with you on the 231 and 236. Two awesome covers. Wish I owned either one of them. Do you have a 236 in HG?
