Yeah...over the years I've seen tons of covers from precode/GA that I think were inspiration for other titles later in bronze.

 

Take for example these two. The TFTC issue has to go out of its way to explain the cover with the mono dialogue...the SOSH is much more effective just by including the man's likeness on the stone and having NO dialogue. The lighting, the shock on the man's face, and the tombstone person smiling back is all it takes. (shiver)

 

BTW, most of the ECs kick total arse in terms of lighting and effect for the covers...this is one of the rare ones that I think miss the mark.
