I wonder how much pre-hero monster comics influenced Hollywood in many of the B-type horror movies or subsequent Modern day flicks. Interesting observation.

It's dead in here...so let me post a nice Wrightson. First 9.6 in census; got it today via home-grown submission. A much needed issue for my missing HOM dollar comics can now be finally crossed off.

This one didn't go according to plan...these Dollar Comics are tricky. I was hoping that the LLC would be treated as a bindery defect. Apparently they didn't. This one is difficult to find with the wrap intact...every one I've seen to date has that white space along the bottom. I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't a production issue but instead poor judgement of measuring the artwork for the page (ie did they forget that Dollar Comics are just a bit longer in length).

It has been quiet in here. Let's chat!

Sterling, I'm sure you probably have stated before, but what is your goal? Is there a cut-off point, as in are you content with a 9.2 , 9.6? Or are you going for highest graded copies of all possible issues? hm

Impressive collection, whatever the goal! (thumbs u

BTW- you have any undercopies of Unexpected 202? :wishluck:

The goal is 9.4 or better. I've long since sold all of my 9.0 and 9.2 issues. I've found that I probably set that as too low of a threshold b/c I've been able to upgrade quite consistently. For newer titles I'm collecting I'm setting 9.6 or even 9.8 (like Tomb of Dracula--9.8s only).

I've even done an exercise to see how many "highest graded" issues I'm missing in HOM. It's to the tune of 20 books that I would need to upgrade. Majority are the earlier issues. I even had a stab at most of them, but lost out to others. The rest in the set are highest graded. Not too bad. I guess the answer is "when I can".

I'm approaching 90% on many titles...and I've had to learn patience. It's probably a good thing I am near the end, as my budget can no longer take a hit.

Unexpected 202: I only have my CGC 9.4 copy. Sorry. As soon as I upgrade my copy I'll probably sell mine.
