X-men First Class makes All Time Greatest Movies List...

54 posts in this topic

With all the over saturation that has been discussed it is good to see that

this film is getting the accolades it deserves!

My only guess this that the public has thought that they have seen the best

the x-men have to offer with X 1-3 and Wolverine and thought that this was

just another hollywood production that was more of the same.

Wolverine was just a sad cookie cutter effort and usually BO numbers suffer when the next

movie that is related comes out, no matter how good it is.

X-men First Class was the best X-men movie I have seen and I am happy to see this.

Hopefully it will reach 200 million or at least make it up in DVD sales so more of the

same quality of work can be made. I can imagine that in Hollywood it is all about numbers

and I have my fingers crossed.

On imdb.com it is ranked 231 all time!

:whee:

I really thought that it was a GREAT movie and not just because im an X-men fan. Its a movie that almost anyone would like imo.

I think its low box office numbers are because it didnt have Wolverine in it and it isnt bigtime mainstream characters that people not into comics know about like Superman, Batman, Hulk, Spidey etc. I dont know anyone that has seen it that didnt like the movie though and that includes all of my friends wives who were surprised how much they liked it.

A really, REALLY good movie (thumbs u

Nice. These 3 are nicely grouped together:

25. 8.7 Psycho (1960) 165,486

26. 8.7 The Silence of the Lambs (1991) 286,955

27. 8.6 Se7en (1995) 329,647

Se7en should be higher. I rewatched it recently and it holds up like crazy.

Interesting list. You wouldn't go wrong watching any of the top 100 movies.

Agreed. Was interesting for me how many of them I own on DVD. If it is after 1975 I own it, prior, not as many.

I think it was the evening's pot roast?

And I agree with the previous comment, it is a fantastic movie, well written.

It's already down to 234 and will be out of the 250 probably in the next week and definitely within 2 weeks. New movies often appear on that list and then sink fast.

And there it is.

As predicted I no longer see this film list in the top 250.

X-men was a a good movie, but I wouldn't rate it up their with IM, Spidy 1/2, DK, or heck even X-men 2.

Good movie, but I think you guys here are over selling it a bit much.
