Help me display my slabs

11 posts in this topic

I recently picked up two display cabinets from an individual who I believe got them from IKEA. I am looking for some places to purchase stands that would safely display my slabs and maximize the space inside the cabinet.

I currently have found only one stand that would work which looks very similar to this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Acrylic-Plate-Picture-Frame-Display-Stand-Easel-4-5-/250844085273?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6778fc19#ht_3147wt_905

I was hoping some of you would have some alternate suggestions as this does not angle the slab enough to allow me to have slabs on each shelf (by about 0.5-1 inch).

I would love to have a little 3x3 news stand style slab display step like unit but alas can not find anything close to it :(

The display cabinet is very similar to this one except glass on 3 of the 4 sides:

Thanks for all your help.

Here's an adjustable mini-easel ($1.30) that might work. While it's 3.25" deep the adjustable arm shows 2.25" tall. Is that enough height to support a slab? ( 2 1/4"H x 2"W x 3 1/4"D )

Brodart Mini Easel

You can google-search "acrylic adjustable easel" and pull up many different styles with adjustable arms. Here's one ($1.75) with a 4.25" vinyl coated adjustable arm:

He makes great shelves at a great price. I used them in my office and they were perfect. Now I have installed several in my classroom to display books and build interest from students.

I really like the 3 tiered display they have there.

I wish these stores had options for Canadian shipping prices.

That is a beautiful case, but man, I really would like to put $220-$275 into a book rather than a case.

Now I havent seen these in person yet... but with locking mechanisms and UV filtering glass these look like the freakin bomb if you can get a floor standing case out of your head!
