Jazzman - I made some additions to your last published list in red below... If only one book per #, then I'd go with Action #1, but if a few more are allowed then I'd add some of these... Could also make an argument for some of the other early Superman covers in Action Comics, especially #'s 7, 10, and 13, and 2nd Batman Cover in Detective, so I penciled them in for now

With all due respect, #25 should be FF 25.

 

1st Hulk vs Thing battle, Avengers crossover and the 2nd SA appearance of captain America (thumbs u A pretty key issue, it's gotta be more important than a modern comic (shrug)

Hmmm, i just looked in my Essential and they did fight in #12.

 

OSPG says #25 is their 1st fight im almost positive but mine is in my car and my wife has it out. Anyone have a OSPG laying handy to see what it says for #25 Hulk vs Thing?
