was one of the first people in the line up to get in the con... on the way to get the sign tickets & literally got pushed & shoved & some **** nearly shoved me into a booth trying to push me out of the way it was a complete mess ... There was also people handing out tickets for some WD book at the same time which only served to confuse people more

3 days at the con & i couldn't get a ticket for kirkman... 3 days at the con & i didn't get a ticket for kirkman & i didn't get stuff signed for tony either because no one at the cgc booth told me that the private signing was only for one day :S

Since Emerald opened to the public Friday at 2:00 pm, I figured that since I got there so late at 3:30 pm I could just cruise right in with my prepaid ticket. WRONG. Line up was still about 25 minutes long and consistently renewing itself, as the students got off school at 3:00 pm and rushed down to Emerald con. Knew that Sat. attendance would be a crazy zoo compared to the hordes already there on Friday so enjoyed the rest of the beautiful city of Seattle and its suburbs: music & sci-fi EMP museum, university district food, used bookstores, casino and outlet mall bargain shopping. It is the CITY of Seattle, not just Emerald con, that keeps on attracting repeat collectors and word of mouth advertising. :applause:

Also, just thought I'd let folks know that Zenescope is trying to make ammends for the snafu and has an email address set up on their website to place orders for the exclusives (only allowing two copies allowed of each). My order has been placed!

Sorry. The snafu fix information is posted on Zenescopes Facebook page. I'd post the address but I'm using my cell phone. Hope this helps and they were really quick to respond - good luck.

Wow. Looks like a couple of the variants sold out as they are not on the site now. What's funny is I received an email from Zenescope as I was typing this that said my order would be shipped in 3 - 5 days. Woo hoo! Hope this post helped with a few other orders.

VIP was just for media people, nothing like that ever really gets set up for comic guests.

I guess if you have vip though you just go in early & go to the booth you really want to first though

I have arrived in Seattle.

This city is awesome, and I can see the convention centre from my hotels front door.

The hall looks nice, and it's a good location.

The daily grill looks to be a great choice, location wise for dinner.

+1 :cloud9:

Daily Grill is good, affordable, and close. Crashing out, y'all. See you tomorrow for round two. :sumo:

Sheri and I had breakfast here one morning and it was fantastic Royce. Salmon benedict with grilled taters and coffee. The waitress was friendly and talkative but not oppressive .... and very kind. She never seemed rushed. We were seated with a full view of the buffett line too :cloud9:

oh yea.. I loved the photos all over every wall of golden age Hollywood Movie Stars .... all in black and white. Very classy :applause:

I ha a great time bowling and at the dinner tonight. I'll post more about the on when I get on an actual computer.

It was packed today, but still a great time.

I was also fortunate enough to get a tony Moore walking dead sketch today, which helped my mood.

Thats awesome. I managed to snag two of his prints after waiting for only 1 hour !! Thats a good one hour investment !!

I'll never go on Saturday again :sumo: (unless there is an exclusive sig on Sat.) I went Friday and there were lots of people sure, but it wasn't packed, just casually busy at best.

I would like to rant that, exhibitors should not be allowed to purchase ECC Exclusives until after the show is over. They are already there to make money (and they surely did with sounds of it!), and the general public should get first pick. I arrived almost two hours early and still had no shot at getting a WD Compendium and I'm okay with that. But when I heard exhibitors just lined up on the inside of the door and ran to the Image booth when it opened....c'mon!

I posted this report in another thread.

I had a great show.

I picked up a grail from JJ that deserves its own thread. CGC worked him so hard I didn't even get to buy him the lunch I owe him. Love.

Troy and his family are such good people that I wished they lived next door. They are close enough to visit though hm

I referred everyone who wanted me to get them stuff from the show to Menace and he was working his rear off the whole weekend. He gave a copy of Fatsa to me and my son. Super nice.

I wanted to meet Senormac but didn't :(

I scored a chance to get an Adventure Time sketchcover for my nephew that was a show highlight for him.

I was lucky enough to win a lottery at the very end of the show for a limited Walking Dead omnibus for Mr. Highgrade to give to his daughter.

I got to talk life and comics with Beachbum. Dre had me with an early April Fools joke that he got the first 9.8 Wolverine 35 at New Orleans. But he made up for it by holding my place in line for Ebas while I got my Silvestri books signed (worship) Silvestri was a very friendly guy.

The gang at the CGC booth was hardworking and fun as usual. After prepping my Silvestri books for SS by myself, I have an even greater appreciation for all Joe has done for CGC and me over the years. (thumbs u

The forum dinner was fun. I got to meet Menace and his fiancee Beth. I got to sit next to greggy again :applause: Toast and Joey and Rey and Borock were there again. I got so nostalgic that I called Doc Watson.

My son Robbie was chatting up Mike at the forum dinner. Thank you, Mike for being so friendly. (thumbs u

I got to visit with Don Rosa on Friday and talk Ducks with the master. He did a sketch for my son on Sunday and signed/sketched my copy of Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.

Robbie got into sketches at this show so much that he started drawing some of his own stuff on backer boards when we were at dinner or back in our room. Travis Hanson kindly shared some great advice about how to encourage kids via art.

The Image Expo in Oakland, CA just a few months ago featured Robert Kirkman, who was very accessible, no tickets needed, and at certain points, no lines either, you could walk up, chat and get a photo as well as an autograph with him. It was a great show and opportunity for fans to interact with a lot of the creators. If that show returns next year with the same guests, I'd advise attending that one to get your signatures and have a very nice fan friendly experience without pushing, shoving or chaos.

I am home now & will post more when I've had time to chill best parts of the con imo were bumping into wolf_2099 & "mike" from the cgc booth (worship)

I miss the day when ECCC was like this too. Now, it's way too big and just too crowded, in my opinion.

But theres still room for growth Jazzman. Saturday at ECCC was like Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday was in SD. Don't forget about that Ceramics show going on at the same time. They will gone and ECCC will be taking over the whole place by next year. Two years tops

My really fast con report I typed at work. I'll have all the sketches up on my CAF by the end of the week.

I arrived at ECCC Thursday night to help a friend set-up his booth. The normal dealers were there buying up and re-stocking their booths before the show started. I walked around for a bit, figuring out exactly where the creators I wanted to meet were set-up and got a feel for the show floor.

Friday morning I arrived at about 10am. I picked up the weekend pass I didn’t end up needing. There were already about 100 people in lines waiting to get their passes. I also got to meet Synch, since he wanted my spare weekend pass, which worked out well for both of us, since I believe he got to skip the massive line-up for tickets.

Around one, Brubaker, Moore and Rucka were there. I was lucky enough to meet them and get my comics signed before the show opened.

Rucka had brought an ARC of his next book, Alpha that he was going to use to raise some money for the CBLDF. I was lucky enough to get it from him by just offering a donation then and there.

When the show opened at two, I was waiting at the image booth to get a ticket for the Kirkman signing. I saw the Walking Dead bibles sell. It was a complete mess show. The signing tickets were also gone in under a minute. It was almost a stampede.

Thanks to this, I ended up being 6th in line for Ryan Ottley and missing my sketch opportunity, which sucked. He was the main reason I wanted to come to this particular show. I also didn’t get picked by Tony Moore. I did get a Steve Leiber sketch, and picked up my Clayton Crain sketch. I also ended up getting all my books signed by Kirkman.

Friday was busy, but not so busy you couldn’t do anything. The guests were extremely friendly, and all in all I had a great time.

I ended up at the heroes Inititave bowling Friday night, which was a lot of fun; I did not get a bowling pin though. I bowled with Tony Parker, and next to Barry Kitson. It was a very fun night, and got to meet some new people.

Saturday morning I got in at 8:45 or so and dropped off my name for Tony Moore, and completely skipped the Image booth for the raffle, but was told it actually was a stampede. I was sitting first in line for Ryan Ottley, and luckily got my sketch. I then also got picked by Tony Moore, for a Rick & Zombie sketch. Saturday was extremely busy; it was very, very hard to move around in artist’s alley. I ended up leaving from about 12-2, since there was just no point, you couldn’t do anything. Even the restaurants around the show were packed, the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday took 30 minutes for take-out at 2pm, and it was insane. I should note, Brubaker was not signing once Saturday, he was in so many panels. I also believe he was never at his table Sunday, either.

Saturday night was the dinner, which turned out to very, very educational. As a younger guy just starting to get interested in Silver Age and Golden Age comics, I got some very, very good information on buying and grading comics. It was a fantastic night.

Sunday since I had nothing left to do, I waited for the Walking Dead Bible raffle. I was at the table when the show opened, and within 2 minutes of the door opening, the table was swamped. I got a raffle ticket, but there were so many people I had trouble getting out so other could get in. In under a minute, the raffle tickets and Kirkman signing tickets were gone. It was crazy, and probably could have been handled better.

Sunday was mostly just wandering around, enjoying the show and trying to find some comics to buy, which I could not.

At quarter after 4, I swung by the Image booth to find out if there were any Walking Deads left, he said they were selling the leftovers off at 4:45. Apparently many people didn’t realize you had to buy them. After chatting with the guy for a minute, he offered to just sell me one, which I thought was extremely nice of him, and a pleasant surprise for the show.

I ended up with;

About 120 comics signed for my personal collection, not CGC.

3 Signed books by Greg Rucka, including the Alpha ARC

2 Blank Cover sketches by Terry Dodson

Clayton Crain Spider-Man/Carnage Sketch

Steve Leiber Batman

Tony Moore Rick/Zombie Sketch

Ryan Ottley Invincible/Allen the Alien Sketch

Tony Moore Brit Page

Matthew Southworth Punisher Page

2 Ryan Ottley Invincible Pages

And then the Walking Dead Bible

I would love to see the Clayton Crain sketch

I plan on either scanning them tonight or tomorrow. I'll post links as soon as I get them done.

He does some awesome, awesome sketches. I wish I could have afforded they painted ones.
