This was the highlight of the show because I started to talk to this gentleman at the CGC booth.

 

It wasn't till the end of our conversation that somehow the CGC boards got brought up.

 

I of course introduced myself as SOT.

 

He introduced himself as........................

Quick Answers to CAL questions.......

 

1. No, he does not talk in the 3rd person. As you could tell by his mannerisms he only talks that way on the boards to joke around.

 

2. He hoards Iron/Man Subby #1 because when he was younger he thought that book was so over priced when it first came out to back issue market so he boycotted it. Cal bought all the others from that area like Hulk 102, Iron Man #1, SS 1, CAP 100, etc.... It wasn't till eBay where he bought his first copy in the late 1990's for like $7.00 that he started to hoard them. In Cal's mind he felt vindicated in the fact he could now buy as many as he wanted, and it snowballed from there.

 

3. To my surprise he was one of the nicest boardies I have met in real life

 

SOT realizing CAL is one the best boardies he has met off the boards.

I remember Mikenyc saying on here a while back that he was sure Cal was just putting on an act and I tend to agree. Although I've had my run ins with him, I've always been convinced that I would like him in person, and your experience seems to confirm this.
