Why isn't Secret Wars 8 worth more?

It's the genesis of not only the black costume but everything that followed including Venom. I remember reading it as a kid and having the wow factor. It gets no love.

Just about everyone owned this book. If you buy a collection from the time period, it's very likely to include at least one set of Secret Wars.

 

It's too common to be worth a whole lot.

Wasn't there a topic before how this issue is one of the most slabbed and most 9.8 comic out there. So I'm guessing it's the quantity that's affecting the price. I don't think the price is gonna go any higher than what the GPA is since Venom was already introduced in the last Spiderman movie, and he's not involved in the new one coming out. Maybe if there's a spin-off movie with Venom as the main character and is directly linked to the issue. There's a lot of them out there, although I don't have one.

The first appearance of Venom was ASM 299 (Cameo) and 300 (Full).

It's not worth more because I have a couple of dozen copies. That guarantees they are never going anywhere pricewise.

Near Mint copies of Secret Wars 7 and 9 are worth about a dollar. Near Mint copies of Secret Wars #8 goes for about $25.00, so that makes it worth 25 times as much as the issues before and after.
