Plus, running the origin story in Playboy isn't going to cost him any issue sales of the Walking Dead when it finally runs there as well.

I can't recall the last time I opened a men's magazine or saw one in a barbershop or some office somewhere or at a friend's house or anywhere besides 7-11's & Borders/Barnes&Noble.

 

I don't suppose I'm in the demographic but I honestly can't believe a demographic for printed porn exits much anymore or that it is in a large enough size to support a magazine publication.

 

Playboys were really big magazines, lots of glossy pages. That's lots of overhead if they're still the same.

 

Is there a market for softcore porn anymore either? This is a post George R.R. Martin world. Don't we all grow up with our fantasy fiction chockablock with extreme everything now?

 

Well, I do not know if it has always been so, but the amount of written content in Playboy mags exceeds the softcore pin-ups by quite a bit these days. Sure, anyone looking for the free more explicit stuff is only a few clicks away from the 98% of the interenet that host pornsites, but there are many people that actually read these mags... like me.

 

My wife will read them now and then as well. She jokes that she is studying up on the enemy. If information is power then I think she has me severely out gunned in our relationship... :ohnoez: I think I might have to pick up an issue of Vogue tomorrow after work...

Not worth $6? With new books going for $4 and for an extra $2 you get T, A, P and comics. This seems like a win-win for all involved.

Anyone know what the cover is going to look like? Not sure how the magazines date themselves as compared to the actual month. I would like to pick up this issue, but would hate to spend my money on the wrong one.

You can get a subscription for like $12 a year.

This past year has done me in. I'm not resubscribing. The mag is but a shred of what it once was.

I hope I get the Michonne issue before my sub ends, but I think I've already received my last issue.
