"All truth passes through three stages.

First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident."

It should be self-evident you are still in stage two.

I thought you would at least enjoy our poems. (shrug)

I had mixed feelings about your and Peter's poems.

Both of them had some good parts, though. I believe the best

poems always contain sympathy toward the subject and the

element of kindness. I think that's what makes a poem beautiful.

And both of your poems had that element of kindness expressed

through certain truthful imagery.

Thank you for taking the time to write them.

I think I'll leave you with this thought.

On the Ning Nang Nong

Where the Cows go Bong!

and the monkeys all say BOO!

There's a Nong Nang Ning

Where the trees go Ping!

And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.

On the Nong Ning Nang

All the mice go Clang

And you just can't catch 'em when they do!

So its Ning Nang Nong

Cows go Bong!

Nong Nang Ning

Trees go ping

Nong Ning Nang

The mice go Clang

What a noisy place to belong

is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

This thread has potential. It's getting me to think of changing my return policy. Ten years and no questions asked. :acclaim:

hm What if..........I bought it from someone else? Would you refund that too?

Maybe. It would all depend if there was any type of staining.

Nice! :applause: I've got a Mary Marvel G.A. that's really stuck in my ,and I can't even give it away.

:takeit:

But I only collect Mary Marvels with rusty staples.

That isn't rust.....

I beg to differ:

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher (1788 – 1860)

As you prefer Voltaire, I believe this one is more apropos:

I am very fond of truth, but not at all of martyrdom. -- Voltaire

You are correct. The source of the quote is Schopenhauer. My apologies to everyone.

And thank you for sharing the wise quote from Voltaire. I will immediately put that wisdom into practice by taking a little vacation from the board. The need for justice has been a vulnerability of mine.
