What Artist's Edition do you want?

47 posts in this topic

This is purely imaginary. . . so indulge.

Mine:

Jack Kirby's Fourth World or Kamandi Artist's Edition.

Dave Gibbons' Watchmen Artist's Edition Special Edition. Autograph and sketch ala the Romita Spider-Man Special Edition. It would probably have to cost like $1,000 but, come on!!!

Bill Watterson's Calvin & Hobbes Artist's Edition Special Edition with autograph and sketch. C&H: Sunday Pages is sort of an Artist's Edition style book but I would like a proper version. Again, it would never happen and it would probably cost more than my house but supercool!

How about you?

BWS Red Nails is number one on my list.

Bernie Wrighton's Swamp Thing, too.

Jeff Smith's Bone.

Re: $1000

Of course, I'd prefer signed and sketched. Jeff sort of did this, but used the colored version as the book. That edition did have a Jeff original drawing in it and it did cost $1000. :)

You'll need to scroll down to see the ad; it's sold out now. I seemed to get the last one since mine is 50/50.

Agreed...Red Nails is at the top of my list too.

Right behind that one:

Brian Bolland's Batman Artist Edition, including the Killing Joke, his Batman 400 story, his JLA 200 story, and his Batman: Black and White story. Perhaps the line work to his Batman and related covers as well.

I've seen many of the originals first hand over the years, but to collect them all in one edition, in full size, with no color to mask the superb line work would be a dream.

Love to see a big Keith book, just raw artwork.

Isn't Ross' Kingdom Come painted? So it would look pretty much the same right?

I've seen his paintings and painted pages over the years...so it would be 11x17?

McFarlane's still got his Spawn art intact, right?

Miller Sin City (yeah yeah, I know it's already B&W, but I've seen his originals, and between the ink wash tones, the clumps of whiteout, and the blueline pencils, they are pretty cool)

If not Sin City, how about 300?

I think there are some Byrne FF issues still complete, right?

Zeck Kraven?

A Death in the Family?

I'm not into JRJr Wolverine or anything else that's been digitally lettered
