STUNTMAN #1 & #2 have arrived and look great!

Note on #1 states "Origin of Stuntman retold".

According to HERITAGE..."The CGC slab incorrectly

says "Origin Retold"; this is actually the first origin of

the character and his first appearance.".

Anyone know who is correct?

Stuntman origin from issue one was reprinted in Black Cat 9 and Thrills of Tomorrow 19. Stuntman 1 was the earliest printing I think.

They are off for grading...SUPERBOY #1 and FLASH COMICS #104

...let's see how we do. Bought them off the newsstand in '49 in Scranton, PA.

Well, here's a Superboy 1 bought off the newstand or drug store just not by me. But I can tell you that Stephen Ritter owned it for the last 15 years before selling it to me. Just love the White Pages: Superboy1.jpg

Great looking book!!!...mine came back at 5.0, but with off-white to white pages.

Congrats. Great Book. Actually you came out way ahead; mine cost considerably more than yours though the Colonel gave me a great deal. I'd love to see it once you have it in hand.

In regard to the STUNTMAN origin...it has been confirmed by CGC that

STUNTMAN #1 is the actual ORIGIN ISSUE!

Even the certification information has been changed to reflect "Origin of

Stuntman".

After thinking about it, I'm going to change my next submission.

Instead of WONDER WOMAN #20 I plan to send in my DELL

FOUR COLOR #159..."DONALD DUCK IN THE GHOST OF THE

GROTTO"...it's one that I always enjoyed and almost forgot I had.

After I submit FLASH #97 and FOUR COLOR #159 next Wednesday

I have to think about what the next two will be. It's becoming more

and more difficult to select and decide which books to choose.

I don't know if I should continue with my favorites from over the years

or select those in the best condition or pick those that have the most

potential value...or go for building sets.

Whatever... it's still a lot of fun!

Grading should be for those in the best condition which have the most value. Lots of common books seem to be graded but aren't valuable. HIgh grade Timely sells at the top of the market, two to three times guide. HIgh grade DC superheroes seem to be priced a little above guide. Perhaps someone can give you a better idea if they know what you have. I don't see why low grade, fair to very good, books are graded. Books in poor condition are designated as readers and usually sell below guide, even if they are graded.

Good Luck!

What about mid-grade books like:

KO KOMICS #1

EERIE #4

ATOMAN #1

ATOMIC THUNDERBOLT #1

JUNIOR #9

MAD HATTER #1

HAUNT OF FEAR #15

...is there value in having them graded?

I've decided that one of my next two books submitted for

grading will be the first one I ever bought off the newsstand,

ALL WINNERS #4...with a truly great cover.
