KICKSTARTER COMIC PROJECTS - show me the good stuff please

59 posts in this topic

A friend of mine has just started his kickstarter campaign. Check it out.

Lola and the Eleven Secrets by Nathan Szerdy

http://kck.st/YXngzi

He is local to the Central FL area and can be found at almost every convention in FL in the artist alley knocking out some awesome sketches! He will also be at HeroesCon this year.

For his rewards, the commissions he is offering will not disappoint. I have some examples I can send you if you PM me about it.

Thanks for checking it out.

Re: when ever i search kickstarter all i seem to get are complete projects

Try this link - Popular Comic Kickstarters - you should see lots of active projects. If you don't, I'd be interested in knowing.

Re: I've not seen anything decent on kickstarter since lust

Tastes vary. I like the Lee/Kaluta Starstuck project a lot. The new Greg Pak intrigues me because I really enjoyed his HULK run. Those may not be to your taste though.

So I am backing this Kickstarter after a recommendation from Greg Rucks. I am only posting it here because there are 5 11X17 commissions just added as perks. You get a commission from artist Dexter Wee in 11X17 PLUS two hardcover books if the total surpasses $7500 (which is all 5 11X17 perks get taken, it will) Also of note, for comic writer types, there are 2 -script reviews by Greg Rucka available at a $300 level which also includes two hardcover books.

Have at 'er...

By the way, the project itself has already reached it's funding goal, so it is happening. Just a matter of whether it reaches it's stretch goal to make all tiers over $75 a hardcover edition!!!

For those interested, I just launched my kickstarter for my comic book ARCADIA:

ARCADIA Kickstarter page

There are some great prize levels for original art. The artist on my project is amazing. I'd love to own some myself! :-)

Check it out just in time for SDCC. I'll be at the Con with my ARCADIA t-shirt on handing out my limited ashcan. So if you see me there, ask for one.

Ultimo Dragon Graphic Novel

There are multiple levels that will get you original art from the project. Just search for Art Dragon, Art Obsession or Art Addict. Price range for the original art starts at $65. The project is wrestling related, of which I am not really a fan, but Wil Woods is an excellent artist. You can see some of Wil's work on his Deviant Art page at http://wil-woods.deviantart.com/.

Hi all

I've started a campaign on Indiegogo for NORM BREYFOGLE to draw a 64 page graphic novel I've co-created and written (Can't use Kickstarter due to being located in Australia)

Link is here

The main reason I'm posting this here is that there are rewards which involve commissions by Norm who has not taken on new commissions in years! I figured I'd spread the word here in case anyone is interested in one!

Oh and this site looks awesome! I'm hoping to see some awesome stuff here and I look forward to sharing my own art collection in the days/weeks/months/years to come!

Mark Texeira and Ricardo Sanchez have a cool Kickstarter called A Hero's Death.

It'll be all watercolor painted pages.

The Story

The Hero died twenty years ago trying to save a family in a building collapse, but the implications of her death still linger, especially for Laura, a young reporter who's doing a story on the anniversary of the Hero's death.

Laura has managed to track down an old woman named Doris Weller, an eye witness to what happened. But Doris has no interest in remembering that day, let alone talking about it. As Laura coaxes the story out of her, we get to see what actually happened to the Hero, and the devastating effect her death had on Doris and the city.

A Hero's Death is a superhero tale that will feel immediately familiar to anyone who's read Superman, Wonder Woman or Spider-Man comics, but plumbs a little deeper into what it means to be a hero.
