OFF-TOPIC shipping advice needed for LARGE shipment

11 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

I know this is an off-topic post. Sorry.

I need some advice on shipping a LARGE and HEAVY amount of magazines from here in Reno to Fresno, California.

This consists of hundreds of Time magazines.

Here are the details.

The weight is going to be about 450 lbs.

They are already individually boxed up in 36 Medium Sized Flat rate boxes.

I figured that instead of sending 36 separate boxes at a cost of $350.00 it might be cheaper and safer to send them all at once.

I've never sent anything FREIGHT before, but thought I'd ask if anybody out there has some good advice for this shipment.

36 x 36 x 18 inches

450 pounds

Thanks,

Jim.

It would probably be best to put them on a skid & call a local cartage company (or a FedEx Ground) Ask them for a quote to move a skid from Reno to Fresno.

When you call in the pick up ask them if they can supply you some shrinkwrap to secure/wrap the boxes to the skid.
