Ugh! Great con but I can't believe I haven't seen any board members that I recognize. .

:baiting:

I'm definatley not hard to spot. If you go on Sunday. I'll be there in the afternoon. Ask Dale, he may know where I'm at and I'm in and out of his booth quite a bit.

I can't believe I've been in Chicago for days now and haven't seen Chuck Gower yet. :) or did I see you, Chuck, and not remember? :) it's been a LOOONG show. Probably due to the constant shuttling between floors with breaking escalators and loads of people that clog the aisles. But I'm not bitter... :)

No pics of the floor/costumes - just had my phone with me.

However, if you're into "haul" pics...

Nothing out of this world, but still filled in some gaps and found some deals w/ some digging.

Hopefully I can restrain myself and save up enough to get that major key next year.

Ugh! Great con but I can't believe I haven't seen any board members that I recognize. Too bad the dinner fell through since I'd be able to meet everyone there.

Sushi night on Thursday had a big turn out and was a lot of fun!

It was. Nice to finally be able to put your face to your board name :)

I was only there Thursday and Friday, Joel... And constantly on the move...

I'm ready for Baltimore now!

Wish I'd had a chance to hang out with you and talk Archie Comics! We had quite a crowd of people at that table!

I used the park and ride parking lot. It was only $5 for each day and then a 2 block walk to the show. At the show IMO that they wasted good space. The chairs right as you walked it was not very good, the live bands I thought was unnecessary, couldn't hold a conversation with friends or a dealer. It also reminded me of a bad flea market with bands. I didn't like the 2 levels.

I got 3 blank cover sketches. I subbed 1 to CGC and the others I am waiting for the artist to send to me. I got both the front and back covers done. We both live in the same area so that's not that big of a deal. I will post pictures when I get them.

I subbed 6 books this weekend, not many, but 3 are SS, 2 with Chris Claremont(X-men 135 and 141) and 1 with Stan Lee (ASM 14). I got the Claremonts back.

I food lines where really really long, on Saturday afternoon they ran out of food at one place and didn't tell anyone in line waiting for an overpriced hot dog or hamburger.

Some autograph lines where really long. I waited to meet Manu Bennett for a friend of mine to get his Spartacus season 1 signed and he was awesome!

There was a lot of toy dealers more than comic dealers. I saw some awesome comics. I also heard that an AF 15 and an ASM 1 where stolen. Someone was reaching through the curtains and grabbed them. One of my favorite things I got at the show as a t-shirt with Galactus eating the death star "Tastes like Sith" on it.

For those not familiar with the area, a brand-new outlet mall opened up at the beginning of the month (by the Muvico?), so traffic may be a bit more congested than normal.

Traffic was the most congested that I have ever seen it.

The outlet mall might have been part of it, but this same weekend there was a Beatles convention right around the corner from the Comic Con, and there was a horror show about a mile up the road as well. Packed weekend.

And a coin/money show in the same building as Wizard. Mayhem!
Next week.

Why that money show needed a WEEK to set up is beyond me, and it made our lives at the wizard show a difficult nightmare.

It was great meeting you, Transplant, and many other familiar boardies, some of whom I finally met for the first time too. I'm at the airport now, with a bag full of slabs and a bag full of raw books I can't wait to list when I get home. :)

Did the "face of the anti-CGC movement" meet your expectations?

Great meeting you, Joel. Thanks for your help this weekend and in San Diego.

I was sorely let down by the face of the anti-CGC movement.
