Guest Reader
Going back to the original posters comments when he says ' Steranko vintage originals have recently sold for $30-100K, with recreations reselling for $30K, so the investment aspect is significant. .' Does anyone have any examples of this? You hardly see any Steranko originals selling in the first place so im wondering what these figures are refering to. Im not questioning what the OP is saying im just wondering what your average Captain America, Nick Fury or X-Men Steranko panel page would cost. Here are two recent sales: 100k http://www.romitaman.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=15907&ArtistId=1076&Details=0&From=Room If someone remembers the price on this recreation please share. If I remember correctly it was quite a bit over 30k: http://www.romitaman.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=11643&ArtistId=1076&Details=0&From=Room

According to Jim, it'd cost something a bit south of $13K to get a full color cover recreation at 18"x25". If this is an indication of the quality, that's pretty tempting. AKA Rick
Was your Captain America done only in pencils? If it is, it looks so tight, it actually looks inked. I just received mine today of Captain America: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=948914&GSub=137092 This is posted with his permission, of course. I hope that helps people make their decision. I am very pleased by what I received and it was a first rate transaction. Mr Steranko was very professional, polite, friendly, displayed a good sense of humor and kept me informed all the way through. I have no complaints whatsoever. montrealfilmguy
Hi fellas, Would any of you know if he Steranko would actually do artwork inside a book ? I was thinking of making him sign my Steranko:Graphic narrative book from the 1978 Winnipeg exhibition, but i'd be awesome if he was to accept doing artwork inside one of the white pages and sign it. Bird
I saw him at a convention last year and he said he wasn't taking new ones as he had some to do still. But why not go through the link and try? Worst he can say is no. He is on twitter as well and tweets all the time. mking78
Don’t know the politics involved, but I have been waiting for my Steranko (Cap and Fury) Volume 2 Artist Edition for what…about 10 years now? was told a few years ago they were waiting on him to finish layouts/design. Maybe no money for him in the Artist Edition, but I still hope we see it someday. Guess commissions pay the bills.

Jeremy_S
Talked with Steranko for about a half hour at the HeroesCon after-party this past weekend. From what he was saying, it sounds like he's pivoting to working on the History of Comics vol 3, and cutting back on conventions outside of the upper East coast where he lives. He said it was an 11-hour drive from his home to Charlotte and "do you know what I could do with 11 hours?!" As far as commissions, I know he typically has sketches available at cons, but outside of that, doubt he takes much, if any, commission work anymore. By himself behind the wheel... What a disillusion ! Edited June 21 by Ecclectica

He has assistants that travel with him and do the heavy lifting of getting him set up for conventions, he's not sitting behind the wheel for 11 hours. Steranko's 86 years old and... Steranko; holding court and flirting with women while looking impeccable is his main job. Ecclectica and alxjhnsn
