Sup's elbow in the reprint is fully colored. in the original there is a spot missing "may be a book flaw hard to tell"

inside Sup's cape the dot shading is different in these ways

1: on his right side it extends all the way to his body on the orginal it does not

2: below his groin the original has no shading the reprint is shaded

3 on his left the reprint is fully shaded, the original leaves a border of red only

 

the roof below the 10 cent, original corner is open, the reprint is closed

 

In the superman logo at the top, the original has red bled over from the letters, the reprint does not

 

by sup's cap the building below him original has small outline line where the cloak comes over the building. the reprint does not

I meant to post this a few days ago, but forgot.

 

Anyway, I was reading Davenport's post and my eye picked up on the differences between these two books...

I don't know much about these two books, and there's probably a whole website devoted to this, but it looks like they completely redrew it with some fairly major changes, and tons of small ones. I would have thought they would have just duplicated the original. Maybe they did it to prevent misrepresentation?

 

I overlaid them to make it easier to see.

So here's the game...point out the differences...if you dare. :)

+1 Ditch Point for each difference pointed out.

Disregard color variations.

 

 

I'll start with the most obvious one:

 

1) The text "64 Pages of Action" and "All in Full Color" are moved upward and outward in the '99 reprint.

 

2) S on chest isn't the same

 

3) the white flairs on the txt bubble are close but not the same " most notable by the word daring"

 

4) just above sups hand at the corner of the building the original corner is open, the reprint Is closed

 

5) 10Cent is off center in the reprint

 

6) the highlights on the top of "Superman" are all wrong.

 

7) the "X" in exploits is different

 

8) His hair was changed from black in the original to blue in the reprint.

 

9) inside Sup's cape the dot shading is different in these ways

Regarding the Superman comparison, one is an original, and the other is a reprint. That should be worth 20 points right there.

 

Actually, that brings up a good point. If something is completely redrawn, and apparently not even traced with a light box, is it really a reprint? hm
