Favorite inker over specific artists

Hi guys,

 

 

How about favorite inker poll (of sorts), but not overall favorite,

but over specific artists (not counting the penciller inking himself);

 

 

So, who's your favorite inker over:

It's obvious that some of the listed artist are their own best inkers

(and your two examples highlight it), but I was curious to learn who

are your favorite inkers, excluding the original pencilers.

Adams - Giordano

Infantino - Infantino or Anderson

Cardy - Cardy (no one else captures the charm as well)

Buscema - Alcala (or Buscema)

Netzer (Nasser) - Rubinstein

Dillin - McLaughlin

Sekowsky - Sachs

Rogers - Austin - I really one of their pages.

Lee - Williams - A wonderful combination

I like the following inkers over nearly anyone's pencils:

 

Norm Rampund - especially over Ian Churchill and Brett Booth

 

Scott Williams - especially over Jim Lee, and he made Ed Benes stuff look great too

 

Joe Weems - especially over Michael Turner

 

Matt "Batt" Banning - most of his stuff over the Top Cow artists

 

Alex Garner - especially over J. Scott Campbell

 

Terry Austin - especially over John Byrne and Marshall Rogers

 

Ayers as well as Chic Stone over Jack Kirby is my favorite, preferred over Royer, Colletta, Sinnott and the others...

Syd Shores is probably my favorite Kirby inkers, followed by Sinnott, Stone and Ayers (in that order).

I feel sort of boring here... wish I had some crazy controversial choice but nothing comes to mind

 

You should try Sal Buscema/Akin&Garvey! I have fond memories of their run together in ROM, in spite that Sal hate it. But I had no guts to choose it...

 

Or John Byrne/Kyle Baker! I loved the couple of annuals they did together, but some people dislike it till the point to name Baker the worst inker for Byrne. I agree that he was not faithful to the pencils, but I found the final product very cool and refreshing.

McNiven - Morales (I like Mark's work, sue me! Now sell me that Jessica Jones cover Mark!)

 

Tony Harris - Ray Snyder (Wade does great work, but Ray is better)

 

BWS - Floyd or Layton, but I will go with Floyd (I owned a BWS/Sienkiewicz page - it WAS a freaky deaky issue so maybe that counts but yes the final result was less than either of them alone)

 

Okay, that's all I got regarding strong opinions on this one
