Why do we need to add all these ages...why can't copper go from Secret Wars #1 or Wolvie Ltd Series #1 til WD #1???

Because then that would seem very Marvel Comics-focused other than calling out The Walking Dead #1.

Depending on what you appreciate from that period, there are different trigger characters/story arcs/titles that were part of the transition period.

A shame you fella's can't converse nicely, cause between the 2 of you, there is more comic history knowledge than 90% of the rest of the posters here have put together.

Well, at least one of them is a wealth of information. (thumbs u The other is usually full of mess.

I can tell you that in southern Indiana, I bought all of my weekly books at a local drug store, and it was always the same release dates as the comic shops in the area received theirs.

(shrug)

Just curious where did you get them at in Southern Indiana we might have been buying at same drug store lol.

Haha, that would be hilarious.

It was near Louisville, KY, right across the bridge.

New Albany or Clarksville?

I would have been in Evansville we are about as South in Indiana as you can get.

Anyone ever lean towards the TPB age ? What I mean is the beginning of

the phrase - " It's an ok series, but I'll wait and get it in the trade....". Seems

I began to hear that phrase with more frequency in the mid to late 1990's.

Pre 21st century.

Ah, the old age debate.

Here are my choices:

Comics from the 1930s --- we'll call them "the 1930s"

Comics from the 1940s --- we'll call them "the 1940s"

Comics from the 1950s --- we'll call them "the 1950s"

Comics from the 1960s --- we'll call them "the 1960s"

Comics from the 1970s --- we'll call them "the 1970s"

Comics from the 1980s --- we'll call them "the 1980s"

Comics from the 1990s --- we'll call them "the 1990s"

Comics from the 2000s --- we'll call them "the 2000s"

Comics from the 2010s --- we'll call them "the 2010s"

It's crazy... it's nutty... but it

just

might

work

New Albany side!

Had a nice little comic store there as well for a couple of years.

There several good ones in Louisville.

To play devil's advocate, classifying comics by decade is already in use. It's just human instinct to "sexy" it up with a cool name (Golden Age, Silver Age, etc). Think of domain names. Really they're just code. A bunch of random numbers each. But to make them easier to remember, we give each code a name (ebay.com, comiclink.com, etc) and tend to always use that name rather than the boring code when typing it into our browser. Ok, not a perfect metaphor, but I think it gets my point across. Maybe. Sure, there's not as many "codes" to remember when going by decades, so we still say, remember comics from the 70s? They were good, unlike that fluff that came out in the 80s. Or whatever. Ok, now my metaphor is completely off the rails. Nevermind. lol

Is there no mod in here?

What's worthy of mod attention? ???

(shrug) Judging by the threads he visits, maybe he wants us to get back to telling him which books to find to flip.

Well, we can't all come on a comic book forum to talk about TV shows.

hm
