Official Wizard World St. Louis March 22-24, 2013

lol You guys talk about this show like it is "Wizard World - Most Dangerous Part of Jakarta"
That's what I was saying to Chuck in another thread. It's not dangerous in that area. It's touristy and full of urban loft dwellers. Right up the street are some good restaurants and nightlife in walking distance. 4 or 5 blocks away, probably best to cab it, is Laclede's Landing which is a weekend hotspot with nightclubs and restaurants. Lumiere Casino and the Four Seasons is there as well. It's a 10 minute cab ride to the Central West End which is a gentrified area with clubs and restaurants as well: good sushi places, Pi pizza, etc.

I was there last year for a convention and stayed at the Lumiere, wandered around Laclede's Landing at night, and walked to the convention center and never felt uncomfortable. Most big cities take great pains to make sure their convention center areas are relatively safe.

The Convention area is pretty safe. I was talking previously about wandering off 3-4 blocks North of there. Or taking a wrong exit while crossing the bridge.

I just booked downtown St Louis 4 star Hyatt on Priceline for $51/night bid ($64 w/taxes) for Mar 22 and 23.

Offer Price:$51.00

Rooms: 1

Nights: 2

Room Subtotal: $102.00

Taxes & Fees: $24.92

Total Charged to Card: $126.92

Probably a 15 min walk from Con. Great hotel that I stay at 4-5 times a year through Priceline booking.

Stupid question.

If i'm not paying extra to see any of the guests what else is there to enjoy other than people watching? Plenty of comics for sale?

I still never have been to a con and this one looks like a good close first.
